tinyE: -WTF!? I bought a game clearly labeled as needing 4 MB Ram and installed it on my 2MB laptop and it won't run! Does GOG rip everyone off like this!?

l0rdtr3k: please stop asking if the site sells Steam keys.GOG is another service from Steam,so you don't get keys to use on Steam.all the games you buy go to your library so you can download them DRM free.
again, this place is not a reseller, this is a site where the people behind The Witcher series believe that it's possible to have games released without any for of DRM,and it shows it's difficult to find the games here on GOG in torrent sites.
"GOG is another service from Steam"

This does not mean what you want it to mean. This would mean that Steam created GOG.
BUMP :P
"GOG is another service from Steam."

Wait, GOG was created by Valve? Despite the DRM stance of the company? Whoa. =P
I think we stumbled on a deep conspiracy here. This seems like a subtle way of attacking the hearts and minds of the gaming communities. It has to stop!!!! Stop, I say!
there corrected it.I've just woke up when I made the thread and my grammar isn't the best

Valve is actually quite DRM agnostic :)

Half-Life 2 games and derivatives, for example, are deliver DRM free through Steam, and they leave it completely up to the publisher whether they want to use CEG or not (CEG is the Steam DRM system). So not sure what you are saying here... so yes, I could see this happen :)

BTW one of the very first things I ever posted in here was the formerly mentioned 'Lucas Arts' question and while I got some grief for it, most of you were beyond nice to me about it and I sincerely thank you all. :D

Forget Lucas Arts games, when are we gonna get the masterpieces from the Call of Duty series? :P

Seeing GOG games on bit torrent sites is a compliment in a weird way. It means it is the best DRM free package you can get for the game. It is a wonderful installer. But yes, also sad that there are those uploading their games.....they should all get caught and flogged if you ask me.

PS Can I get a Steam Key for my games here? lol
What?! Do you mean I can't get a Steam key in here?! Madness! How will I play my games, then? Steam = PC gaming, bro.

(I agree with tinyE, as long as they understand when we tell them "no, GOG doesn't sell Steam keys" and don't rage or throw a fit, I don't really mind them asking. We were all newbies once, we all had to learn how things work, and it's no shame to ask for clarification. Having said that, when I joined GOG it never crossed my mind I would get Steam keys.)
Just a quick question I haven't seen answered anywhere so far: If I buy a game here, can I redeem it on Steam?
I think people need to remember that it's really not that strange a question to ask.

Look at Last Federation. Humble Widget will get you a DRM-free copy + Steam key + Linux version.
But 'GOG is different' so here you only get the DRM-free version (though eventually linux versions as well when they get it up and running no doubt).

When other places sell DRM-free + Steam for pretty much the same money, is it really that strange to ask whether this place does too for a newbie?

I'd actually buy them all here. Haven't played a CoD since the first Modern Warfare and I really don't care much about the series but I'd still give the newer ones a try if they were released here. :P Even if I didn't enjoy them, at least each GOG sale would be a hint for the publishers that DRM-free releases may be a good idea after all.
