Sorry, my bad. I should have mentioned that it focuses on multiplayer/skirmish. In the game, click on "mods". It will allow you to download the data for Dune and C&C 1.

No prob! I got curious and Googled RA installer and the 1st one I found is working great thought I'm just messing with it right now.

Like I said, and I can't overemphasize this, that link you gave looks amazing and anyone looking for some old school Westwood skirmishes would be a fool to pass it up.

UPDATE: TOTALLY OT but that RA installer I snagged installs the Ant missions. :P Hard as hell but fun fun fun, If anyone here gets bored of Blade Runner and wants to dust off their RA disc let me know and I'll post the link.

The Blade Runner game is an awesome companion to both the film and the book, mixing up elements from both of them in a really faithful, respectful way. It's only flaw, imho, is that its multiple possible endings make the plot suffer quite a bit. You really have to roleplay a lot within your head in order to fill the gaps. And you can really mess it up (or have a blast, if that's your thing) if you go around playing a schizoid McCoy that gets kitties down trees in one scene and kicks puppies in the next one). I don't think anyone would possibly be able to get all possible endings, especially since there's so much stuff that's randomized, but here's an LP that does a great job of explaining some of them, ripe with interesting trivia about the whole BR mythos, and with a nice amount of humor: http://lparchive.org/Blade-Runner/.

Also, if you can manage (the game has no subtitles), play the original English version. The Spanish translation I had to deal with was... well, not good.

I agree with all of the above, but I quite liked the plot anyway. Thought it was a very good parallell to both the book and movie.

For those searching for an easy and legal way to run Blade Runner, I have found another installer that needs neither registering nor a lot of dubios steps. Only the 4 original CD's...

EDIT: Darn, I'm not yet allowed to post links. Google "Blade Runner WIndows 7 64 Bit Adventuregamers Sierra". The first result should take you to a forum where a user posts a link to a custom installer.

there was nothing dubious about the sign up site, and gives you the cpu patch that you need to be able to play correctly.

Sorry, I cross-read two threads and one had a fix that seemed a bit strange. But I didn't mean the sign-up page :) Might try that installer now as the one I posted doesn't recognize my 3rd CD which is a little scratched. I hope copying the files manually will work.

Haven't read Ubik, but I'd probably enjoy it. I love Phil K. Dick's stuff.

bezarkane: I assume it is, since it is free to play and the Westwood originals are free to play, too (except Dune?). Did I mention that you can play it in higher resolutions than the original?

BTT: I think I might install my old Blade Runer game tonight. I'm writing a term paper about the film right now anyway. I'll report back.

tinyE: If that is the case I owe you big my friend. :D I would love a good looking playable Dune 2000 that won't get my ass in trouble. I love that game but not much has been done to make it run smoother on newer systems. When I bought BR last week I had the option of getting it alone or getting a box of it and Dune 2000 but every site I found said unlike BR there are no good installers or patches to help get Dune working.
Did you try the Gruntmods edition of Dune 2000? No idea of the legality side of it, but it is still live and hasn't been closed down. Been around for a while, in fact.
