iippo: not certain if i am unique, but the average christmas songs have pretty much the same effect after your forced to listen to them non stop. :)

reaver894: there is that

Dzsono: Most of the time I actually just leave the room. Honestly, I'd prefer to sit in front of an "off" TV for an hour than watch that bollocks :(

that was one of the better things from the singing contests this year.
I would feel bad if I were listening to traditional radio in 2013.

Yeah, it's not good. I had a friend borrow my car and change radio station from what I'd usually have (assuming I even turned it on) and.. not good, terrible in fact.

On another note, who borrows someones car and changes the radio station?

I did that to a friend but i didn't borrow the car, just nicked the keys to change the station. I also put those stupid eyelashes above his headlights, He is very car proud and was absolutely raging.
Seriously, this have to stop.

I only see promotion of x-mas stuff, songs and adds as early as in august as an attempt fueled by corporate greed to get people in the mood to spend more money.

the message is spend!, spend! spend! - brainless commercialism.

/end of rant

;)

Haha well that's a different thing entirely :P I hope he didn't notice the eyelashes for a while.

3 days, his work took a picture of it and ballooned it to an A3 laminated sheet and stuck it on the back of his van

haha, excellent!
Maybe it's things like this that can restore our faith in humanity, when they watch shit TV and buy christmas decorations in August.
I would rather use some Spotify-enabled radio to listen in my car (offline) than listen to that usual radio crap...
There was a Seinfeld episode where they borrowed Puddy's car and found the radio programmed to all religious stations. In order to find out if he was a Jesus freak Elaine borrowed the car again, reprogrammed everything, and then borrowed the car yet again to see of the religious stations were back. They were and it turned out Puddy was a Jesus freak. His hope of everlasting life in heaven came to a crushing end when he found out he was going to hell because he was living with Elaine without being married to her. Very touching.

Nice to see how this thread has progressed! :D

I don't remember that, but then with Seinfeld I usually only keep so much in my brain, like the pig man and tend to forget the rest.

Dzsono: Yet another sob story or artificially produced drama on [insert reality singing/cooking show here]. I'm a victim of circumstance because everyone else likes these shows, so I have to sit there and be quiet.
avatar
reaver894: I had to watch most of this past seasons X Factor, I found if i stayed quiet during the "singing" (and I use that term very loosely) and made sarcastic comments during the non "singing" bits it made it bearable
Seems like a rather suspicious story. Those types of shows are not allowed to be viewed in my house, and if I go to some other person's house that is watching them, I leave and never talk to them again.

As for Christmas music, I have heard that they are indeed trying to push the Christmas Sales into even earlier months than last year. Yeah, Capitalism!

Speaking of Seinfeld, "It's Festivus for the rest of us."

A local store started putting Halloween stuff out last week. I guess it takes over two months to make sure one is properly prepared!
