Anyone else think football would be better if they added some obstacles to the pitch?

Imagine a football field with a few low walls to bounce the ball off or hide behind, some tunnels to run through, a row of swinging axes, maybe a fire pit in the centre circle?

I think it could really breathe new life into the sport.

That is the most awesome idea, I've heard lately. Your post also reminds me of the game, the Aztecs used to play. :)

What formation would that team play, exactly? Even in the 20's teams fielded at least a couple of stoppers.

If this is the best we can put together, put simply, we're screwed, and I, for one, welcome our new footballing alien overlords.

Dude, it's just an ad. ;) Defenders aren't as commercial as forwards are.

But if the future of the Earth would depend on football team for me it might be:
Neuer - Alaba, T. Silva, D. Luiz, Lahm - C. Ronaldo (C), Vidal, Iniesta, Robben - Ibrahimovic, Messi

I'm actually kind of looking forward to that myself. U.S. pulled the group of death but it's not like we were favored to win a single game anyway. :P

Yeah, it's a tough group. Almost the toughest one we (Germany) could have gotten, considering the way the draw was set up.

Oh, I like your national team a little. I won - thanks to them - a lot of money in 2010. However, now your chances are quite low. Even Ghana is the best pack from Africa. Bad luck :(

Come on, there is nothing you have to be worried about. Germany can't win Brasil 2014 (someone from South America will, Brasil probably), but you will crash everyone till semi-finals like you always do.
