Tarnicus: [...]

What did the rest of the lamp taste like? Is some sort of hallucinogen required to find the edible parts? We have some lamps circa 1930s in the park across the road. They don't work, so I guess they are fair game to eat?
Hahaha, had you not made this comment, I'd have not realised my hilarious typo. Cheers! ;-D

JudasIscariot: Not sure about crocodile but I've had some gator tail meat. It's a little chewier than normal but very good :)
I'd like to try some fugu but I would be too scared that I'd get my portion prepared by a grade F chef :/
Another Australian delicacy is kangaroo. The advantage of roo over croc is that you can put your change in one of these bags of holding.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Everything homemade, even without high skill, is most of the times, tastier and healthier, than the things they serve outside for a price. First thing is that YOU choose the ingredients, their quality, how fresh and in good condition they are. And if you frequently cook things for yourself, skill naturally kicks in.

Like in MMO, cooking should be picked by everyone, and all classes can learn it! :D :P
Agreed! I am amazed that basic life skills are not mandatory, and cooking is definitely one of them!

Crackpot.756: That actually sounds disgusting!

OT, cats and people. Although I'm a vegetarian so that's probably not gonna happen and I heard eating people is illegal anyways.

My knowledge about strange food seems rather limited all of a sudden.
avatar
Tarnicus: I'm also vegetarian, and strangely the only meat that tantalises my senses is the smell of my own flesh burning when I'm tending fire. I've never tried long pig before.

As I grew up in Sydney, and had access to and tried many different culture's cuisines, I can't think of anything offhand that I haven't already tried. I guess I am curious about frying up insects such as grasshoppers in a nice spice mix (turmeric, cumin, coriander & chilli), but given my ethos, that would only occur in a survival situation.

Note: Australian native wood cockroaches carry no known diseases, so if you're ever in a survival situation Down Under, eat up! :P
avatar
darthspudius: Never have Lobster? beautiful meat! I'm also putting one out for Crocodile. I'd also love to try Dog and cat. To see if I like eating next door's annoying pets.
avatar
Tarnicus: I've got a compound bow and 3 dogs and 4 cats. Maybe we could combine my desire to eat long pig with your desire to eat cat and dog? :P
avatar
HypersomniacLive: I once tried lamp eyeballs, they got a melty texture, and taste a bit similar, but not as good as lamb/ goat brain which I prefer. They're considered a delicacy and hard to get, but I stuck with that one time.

I'm quite open to trying new foods, so long as they smell good - if they don't pass this stage, chances are that I won't try them as I got a sensitive gag reflex and smells trigger it pretty easily.

Be my guest haha

F1ach: Bought some Kangaroo steaks, hope to try them at the weekend if I can get the fond nostalgic pictures of Skippy the bush kangaroo out of my head :)

Crewdroog: caviar is super gross, and I like a lot of weird foods. It's like these little balls that pop in your mouth and taste like nasty sea water. blarg. No idea why people pay so much money for that.

I also dislike truffles (fungus not chocolate). It's like eating moldy dirt. Expensive moldy dirt.
Combine a certain type of mushroom that grows abundantly here in Autumn to Winter, add the lamps from across the road, put my bow in the centre of the park, everyone start at points around the park(my animals would follow me over), and we have our very own version of The Hunger Games! :P

maybe chicken with whipped cream

no way am i getting near the strawberry omelette if its already evil to him it wil be certain death to me
Norwegian scallops or scallops from Norway...

Saw a show on the Food channel where they went out and dived for them,
returned to the cabin and cooked them over an open fire. They were 4"-5"
in diameter.

Our scallops are only about 1" for the largest.

Wild Turkey (not the kind you drink)is better than any supermarket bird.
Esp. if you like dark meat, it is all dark meat.
No additives, steroids, and very lean.
