wy4786: IMO rabbit and chicken tastes worlds apart!

If you ever get the chance, try wild boar! Especially if you're in Asia!
Okies. Just curious - were the rabbit dishes you tried from wild rabbits or tame rabbits? I was fed rabbits raised in coops, and I think their diet was a bit lacking. They were still reasonably tasty, mind, but I suspect wild rabbit would be better than what I had.

I don't think I've had wild boar, but if the pig-bomb problem in the US continues to expand, that could change!

No idea tbh. But I feel that rabbit is much more gamey.. The best rabbit I had at Locanda Verde NYC, check them out if you're in the area!

justanoldgamer: Something I like but is taboo in a lot of places is horse meat. It's better than beef.
I like it too. I've ordered it at a restaurant a couple of times and bought home a couple of times. Not exactly common here but not rare either. You just have to know where to look ;)

justanoldgamer: Rabbit
They sell it at my supermarket so it's just a question of time.
Rabbit stew is awesome. Of course, with a hunting cousin, I don't need to buy rabbit.

SalarShushan: I truly disliked every caviar shared with me. I can't work out why others think it is such a wonderful thing, which is why I have often accepted a cracker of it when someone offered what was supposed to be 'the good stuff.' Never did work out what was great about that high salt / oily taste. blech!
Perhaps you'd like the Swedish "caviar". You might find one brand at Ikea as "Kalles Kaviar" or "Kalles Romkräm" (same product, but due to regulations it's named the latter in some countries).
Oh, and as for something I'd like to try... I don't know, vegemite is the first that comes to mind.

Thank you for the good word. :) If someone offers me some Kalles caviar on a cracker, I shall accept but that's the only way I try caviar. It costs too much otherwise, especially given I haven't liked any of the others thus far.

If I am ever rich and in NYC for dinner I shall keep them in mind, but I think their menu changes, because its not showing rabbit right now except for rabbit sausage with pasta

ahh, I guess you're right.. well their sheep milk ricotta and meat ball sliders are pretty damn good too

this was what I had when I visited NYC last year; http://newyork.seriouseats.com/2013/07/behind-the-scenes-rabbit-at-locanda-verde-slideshow.html
Tempeh (I wonder why I still haven't gotten the opportunity)
and Nattō (I know, it's probably disgusting)

Oh fancy restaurants may change their menus every season, so that's not surprising, and it may well be back again after awhile, especially if it was well received. I suspect that availability in supplies plays a role in the changes too. The more exotic an ingredient, the easier it is to run out of it.

Thanks for digging out a picture of this dish. Looks tasty! That's a much fancier dish than the ones I tried. lol

Use lots of (hot) dry spices and it's more awesome than pizza with cheese.
