SirPrimalform: Got to love the fake story board screenshots:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/assets/000/172/658/18f890473cad269cc9a641ac36c25d96_large.jpg

The things on the right are just stills from the original version of the game and the pictures on the left seem intended to imply that the screenshots were developed from these sketches even though it's clearly the other way around.
Yeah, I got a kick out of those too. They look like someone ran the screenshots through a "find edges" filter, and then hastily edited them slightly to make them look hand-drawn.
It'll be interesting to see what will happen.
Got a reply on Kickstarter:

Thanks for your interest in our project.
The final version of our game will be for free in the Play store.
The Legal Stuff (from the open source platform):
Preamble:
Basically, give this game away, share it with your friends. Don't remove this
Readme, or pretend that you wrote it. You can include it in a software
collection, like a Linux distribution or coverdisk (which may be sold), but
using it in things like commercial adventure game collections without asking is
just playing dirty. You can modify the gamedata for such purposes as compressing
audio. This preamble is not legally binding, but is to clarify the intent of
the following licence.
Licence:
1) You may distribute this game for free on any medium, provided this Readme
and all associated copyright notices and disclaimers are left intact.
2) You may charge a reasonable copying fee for this archive, and may
distribute it in aggregate as part of a larger and possibly commercial software
distribution (such as a Linux distribution or magazine coverdisk). You must
provide proper attribution and ensure that this Readme and all associated
copyright notices and disclaimers are left intact.
3) You may not charge a fee for the game itself. This includes reselling the
game as an individual item.
4) You may modify the game as you wish. You may also distribute modified
versions under the terms set forth in this licence, but with the additional
requirement that the work is marked with a prominent notice which states that
it is a modified version.
5) All game content is Copyright (C) John Passfield and Steven Stamatiadis.
The ScummVM engine is Copyright (C) The ScummVM Team (www.scummvm.org).
6) THE GAME DATA IN THIS ARCHIVE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING AND NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

We hope to see you as our future backer,

Best Regards,
Serendipity Software Solutions.
Hmm... I dunno... I still think this is probably a scam. Apparently it's going to be available for free so I think the basic plan was to make money on Kickstarter, bung FotAQ bundled with ScummVM on the store for free and then laugh.
If they do plan to actually use the money to remake the game, I'm not sure the licence covers that (they clearly don't have the rights to the game and just think the freeware licence covers remaking).
I do believe, that they should at least point the location of freely downloadable version of Amazon Queen in their pitch. Now they just pretend, that they are doing something novel, which is not the case.
lol 40k, ppl take kickstarter for joke nowadays

Just noticed that the top level reward for this project is advertising space in the game. Well there goes their "It's ok because we were going to make it free!" defence. Selling advertising constitutes commercial use. Reported.
Thankfully it seems most people are well aware that this is not a project to throw money at, although it surprised me quite a lot to see another backer enter as I was looking at the project just now. Still, that only brings it up to 7 backers for a grand total of $166 out of the needed $40,000, with just 2 days to go.

I feel an urge to recruit for a spam campaign against these assholes.
