tfishell: If so that's REALLY disappointing (unless it was pricing).

adambiser: Now all five Catacomb games are $5.99 on the site. The Dangerous Dave games are also $5.99 for the set.

Related link in another thread saying that the games will make their way to GOG.
The Catacombs full set right now has two copies of Catacombs 3D and none of the original ATM. I've been meaning to contact him to point that out. I'm guessing it's not a big seller.

The games run mostly fine, but be aware that DOSBox doesn't emulate CRT borders so in Catacombs 3D you might now realize you're being hit.

EDIT: Just sent a PM through KS about the oversight, I'd imagine that will get addressed fairly quickly.

Dangerous Dave for $6? Fucking sold.

All but the very first one, but that's understandable.

Curiously, they also list the first Catacomb

It's not actually in the zip ATM, I PM the KS earlier today to point out the oversight. Same MD5 and same game, I'm guessing that I"m the first person to report the omission. Mostly because it's a $6 set and you can buy the game on it's own if you really want to. I think most folks really want the later games.

I wouldn't expect a response until probably late tonight or early tomorrow morning local time.

I'd recommend removing that link as you can still buy that game in the Flatrock store.

Huh, I always assumed Romero had the rights with that game for himself. Weird.

I'd recommend contacting the site I linked to because they try to keep a clean archive of shareware demos and legit freeware. I.e. both Dave 1 and C1 come in a copy of a promo disc.

That's a good point, although it's not really my place to interfere one way or another as I'm not an employee and have to take Flatrock's word that they own the rights.

Yeah, the head of Flatrock Software is doing a failing Kickstarter campaign to port The Catacombs series to iPhone. I had contacted him last week about the possibility of bringing the games here, right before I bought my copy.

So, failing to find any contact information on the site or in the email, I dropped him a note and a word of advice/encouragement on trying the KS again later on, about the time that the games show up here. AFAIK, it hasn't been finalized so it could still fall apart in some fashion, having played the games, I think the biggest concern is that DOSBox flickers in the game and lacks the ability to emulate CRT borders. Making for a slightly less than optimal experience.

But, they play well enough, that I'd buy them again here if they're released.

OK, didn't make the KS / Kickstarter association. It's morning here, so that's my excuse. :)

Yes, his contact information is tough to find. I actually had to WHOIS the site information to get it.

In the other thread It has been said that Flat Rock and GOG have reached an agreement and the games will come here.

I resurrected the thread to point out that the 5-game set is now $5.99, down from the $8 it was when this thread was first active... price matching what it will be on GOG perhaps? I don't remember what the DD collection cost.

Heh, He'll been glad when the games finally show up here so all the GOGites leave him alone. :)

Didn't notice that. It could be, or more likely it wasn't selling at $8 so he price dropped it. Given that it presently includes two copies of the same game instead of the other game that's supposed to be included, I'm guessing that nobody was buying it since he put it up.

I didn't see any references to it when I googled for it before I bought. In fact without the KS campaign I wouldn't have even known that it was available for sale anywhere.

I'm gaining a veritable collection of historic FPS games. I need find a copy of Lethal tender even though it's a bad game, just because it's an early FPS with semi realistic damage. Even today, I only see it in games like FO3 and FO:NV and other roleplay games.

I suppose, it only takes a 30-minute demonstration of Robinson's Requiem to scare potential regional damage developers shitless. Or a clip of someone playing Deus Ex with both arms and legs shot off.
So these are Eye of the Beholder/early Might and Magic style dungeon crawlers? What is with this website that is offering to sell me these games but appears to give no information about what they are, how they play, or why I should buy them?

Nope, it's Wolfenstein 3D only with some magic zapper instead of guns. I think, the invisible bitey demons from Doom make their first appearance here.
