tomimt: I wonder if we'll see Fade to Black some point as well. It was a pretty good sequal to Flashback.

Ravenvolf: A lot of people hated it, but I was quite a big fan of Fade to Black. Would like to be able to play it again.
I actually played Fade to Black before I had a change to play Flashback. FtB has some annoying level design in it, but all in all it was pretty solid experience. It's aged pretty horribly though thanks to old 3D graphics, Flashback on the other hand stil looks rather nice.
It does look pretty cool, at least this time around the 3D looks better than those cutscenes from the CD release of the game.
Seems a pretty shitty remake to me. I know Flashback ins and outs pretty well, I still play it after all these years and I still enjoy its timeless gaming mechanics. And there is nothing tickling me in this remake, thus far.

Playstation or PC version of Fade to Black?

If you can get it to run, you can still find the FtB demo out their. The PC graphics had an almost rotoscope-voxel look to them. Minimalist and at times pleasing. The playstation graphics are little too forced when it comes to the 3 dimensions.

They were great games, and beer is an excellent currency. Used to work construction, having a case of beer in the back of your truck is mandatory.
Vote for the series on the wishlist:

Flashback: The Quest For Identity
Fade To Black
Flashback (Remake)

PC, I still got the orginal CD somewhere. True, it look nicer than most old 3D games, but it still hasn't aged that well.
high rated
Well, I e-mailed them (info@vectorcell.com) and they quickly replied that nothing was planned. I replied to their replied with information about business inquiries on GOG.com, told them that their website was a little empty (403 forbidden :-) ) and that the platforms for the remake were vague (so I asked confirmation for pc release).

+Rep Glad to see that you were able to get a response, I hope they do reply to you on all those points. :)
The original flashback still looks good to me...
Looks a bit fugly.Suddenly i appreciate the original even more.
I gotta wonder if the controls and animations will still be as fluid and tight as in the original, i mean, nothing beats walking, then starting to run, roll under some lasers and jump on a ledge all in a smooth animation. That blew my mind.

And these are the gameplay mechanics I was talking about: playing Flashback is always fun, and fresh. This remake? A piece of shit with no fluidity and some stupid 3D effects, it seems. Heh, never, NEVER trust a so-called "HD remake" of something that works perfectly right out of the box with no need for remake.

While i can't judge the quality of an unfinished product, my general approach is that an "hd remake" is the gaming equivalent of "remastered" in music. Pointless. If it's not broken, don't fix it. ;)
Loved Flashback. Much better than Blackthorne, that ripoff
