Welcome to Flame War™, where you can make petty insults, cuss like there's no tomorrow, or make a rational discussion preferring one side over the other. Each week (or so) I'll post two things that are more or less the same in terms of its own kind, and you'll just flame on over what's better. It's online advocacy, but with more insults to one's mother. Where it's perfectly acceptable to act like half your age online.
This time, I'll push the question on the battle of the gaming beverages, the weird-tasting (At least for me) Red Bull, or the LAN party drink of choice, Mountain Dew. Which is the fairest of them all?

well mountain dew has to get my vote, if it's opened in my vicinity I don't feel like I've been punched in the face with a bad smell, you can drink a litre of it without a coronary (probably) and it has the benefit of looking like urine, allowing for hilarious replacement comedy.

and only redbull gives you wings. Can you imagine wings with something other then redbull ? Ok, I know, you can mix vodka with any energy dring and call it wings....

I thought red bull was a sort of orange colour. Anyway, plenty of things have or can give you wings, feminine hygene products, birds, cocaine...

Not only does Red Bull taste like piss but IT IS piss. Look for an ingredient by the name of taurine on the label. That is bull wee.

Zombus: Actually, it's not bulls' piss, it's ox gall. ;)
And, considering the evironmental pollution, I'd rather consume something I know about than trying to push my luck and actually drink dew collected from unknown mountains.

That is why i drink coffee for my caffeine needs.

I did hear that Red Bull is banned in France. [citation needed!]
Mountain Dew gets my vote, despite the fact you can't get it in the UK, and I haven't drunk it since I was probably 9 or 10 years old.
Red Bull is one of the worst tasting things I have every had the misfortune to drink, but loads of people here drink red bull + vodka. Cannot stand it, would happily see it banned for that very selfish reason.
Red Bull Cola on the other hand, has a bizarre taste, but you can actually taste what they've made it from (and it tells you exactly what on the can, and when they first released it, they handed out mini flyers with the "all natural" ingredients list.).

Mountain dew.
Tastes better, doesn't cause you to dehydrate (atleast as much as red bull does), refreshes you more.

Red Bull was banned, but it was upheld in EC court, probably the only time when I think the EU made the right choice.

btw is mountain dew energy dring or just some "tasty water with salt" ?
regarding wings and redbull, I don't know how it is in other countries but there are advertisements built on slogan "redbull gives you wings"
and by the way, most of time i am drinking only real energydring there - semtex :P
