t tend to stick with genre specific and the occasional gaming article on [url=http://arstechnica.com/gaming/]Ars Technica.
Personally: Most gaming sites come off a little too fanboyish, or focus on console systems/culture I don't own or care about.
Both of them are made of fail in my oh so humble opinion. Rock, Paper, Shotgun is better!
This. At least RPS is readable.
I don't know if the *fanboy sites were actually part of Joystiq before or if they were just aquired recently, but I've been using the ps3fanboy/pspfanboy pages for a while and I liked them. Mostly because they carried in the title what they are: fanboy pages. You didn't get anything besides lukewarm press announcements, but at least they had the decency to tell you in advance.

I prefer Destructoid myself.
I've always viewd destructoid as the kind of place where they would just swear excessively because they think it makes them edgy rather than try-hard losers

It's funny, because it does make them both edgy and try-hard losers.
well at the risk of sounding a bit like an edgy try hard loser, I think it makes them look like twats
They both seemed the same to me so I just chose one at random, that one was Kotaku so I suppose that makes Joystiq t3h suck...or something.
Really? Where'd you get that?
There are plenty of people that randomly pop in and flame various articles but the core community is rather mature from what I've seen. And none of the staff seem to be like that in the least.
I read kotaku and rock, paper, shotgun, even if I disagree with most of what they say...
I regard them as news blogs, rather than news, but you do get to know generally whats going on.
For a proper blog, I read Twenty Sided and The Brainy Gamer. I think I only really agree with Shamus on Twenty Sided though.
All these things need more talking about how the old days were better, everything new is just crap with bloom and you should never touch a console ever!!!!!
Hmm... not very flamey... needs more hot sauce.
Kotaku is a consoletard, japan-centric, fanboy driven piece of shit sorry excuse for anything. Rock, Paper, Shotgun isn't... so RPS win. Joystiq I've never heard of, and will not dignify with a clickity.
Flaming is not my thing...
I read both, though I enjoy Kotaku more. Also, this community is flame war proof :P

Video gaming journalism!
Though I do like Rock Paper Shotgun a lot.
