Different strokes for different folks, but may I ask why you don't like tabs? I'm sincerely curious.

On topic, I think Firefox is far too late. The mass switch to faster browsers is already well under way, and for good reasons, too.

Can't really tell why, but I disliked the concept from the get go.
I always used the computer with two hands, so I guess Alt+Tab became a natural motion for my left hand and it seems kind of natural layout for me to cycle through windows that way while having them spread out in the windows task bar.

If you look at my windows theme you'll see that I'm going old school all the way. I always found that it was easier for me to adjust new programs so that I can just go on using them like I did a minute ago.
A kind of "don't fix it if it isn't broke".

Rondel: Well, there is "status bar". Just hover your cursor over something and in the left bottom corner some info will appear. Same thing when it comes to loading pages.
I really love it, because I used the Fission extension for this, which now I don't need no more. You still can get the look and feel by activating the old bars. In my case I prefer to use a compact menu bar (combined with the adress bar) and the tabs under the adress bar. No problems to change this, so thumbs up for this release.

After a cleanup of unused extensions I only miss the Free Download Manager plugin, I hope they will update it soon. I guess there are some ways to activate the old extensions like in FF3 (about:config to disable check, edit extension info, special extensions), but I prefer to wait for an update this time.

Edit: I totally forgot about FlashGot. I will use it till there will be an update for FDM. So, everything is fine from my side :-)

After they switched their browsing history system to that weird SQL hybrid thing the browser freezes constantly for me. It's the dumbest thing they've ever done.

Not to mention that this "weird SQL hybrid thing" is SQLite, is usually praised for it's speed and is used in tons of other application including Chrome.

BTW the new "streamlined interface" is a bad piece of crap. Looking forward to remove it with an add-on and restore the ol'good FF 3 interface I'm using right now....

I have a fast computer. All the browsers load quickly and I have more than enough memory on all my computers to run them easily. Having said that, while I use FF4 on the fast computer, Chrome is used on my netbook. (Chrome being more lightweight.)

I avoided Chrome because of the initial start-up page that the latest user the last 6 or so sites that the previous visited. Is there any way to disable that apart from browsing in invisible mode?

Anyway updating my Firefox in 30 minutes. Gotta finish a few downloads before I restart it.

Updates to firefox 4, unchecks make default and goes back to IE9.

The 20 second update to firefox 4 was impressive though. That is all.

Seriously, I just keep firefox around for the rare time a page doesn't work properly in IE.

Yes, and THAT is what I'm talking about.

Firefox is good. That stupid history system freezing the browser at startup and when I try to check it out isn't.
