Thomas Dekker was pretty mediocre, although it also didn't help that the writers basically had no idea where they wanted to go with the show in season 2, and it really showed.

Love Firefly. I really enjoyed the whole Western in space concept.

Firefly was fantastic, even though I feel there are some creepy elements of Confederacy romanticism underlying the basic premise of the show. The Alliance is portrayed as the show's evil-but-politically-correct Yankees, while the rugged individualism and anti-government stance of Mal and the other pioneers on the losing side of the conflict fits perfectly with the romanticized self-image of the American South right up to this day.
That said, I loved Firefly's sympathetic characters and the strong sense of friendship and community which made the Serenity crew what it was. The brilliantly written and directed "Out of Gas" is quite possible the single most moving episode I've seen of any TV show, ever.

Solid show and surprised it was canceled... well, not really, considering network executives. It was fairly original and interesting compared to what was on television then (and even more so now) and I thought the acting was really good.
I haven't consistently watched network television in years because inevitably everything I end up liking gets canceled, a la "Kings" just recently.

Loved it. Hated the blue hands Fox-ism, which was pure nonsense.
Summer Glau really acted her role perfectly, amazing.

Whedon explained himself on that one in the "making of" extras. As I recall, he felt the ending battle would have been considerably less exciting if the viewer thought the movie was one of those where nobody dies. I suppose he has a point, even though it really felt like a cruel thing to do to Firefly fans.

I mean... They couldve killed River and the doctor, that would be fine, and open up a hole new story with the preacher and the pilot, because we already knew so little about them. Whatever, they may not even continue it.

Also, Felicia Day is adorable.

I think she took Morgan Webb's place as babe of the intarwebz. If you haven't checked out her webisode series 'The Guild', I highly suggest checking it out. It is where Joss Whedon got the idea to make "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" (thus casting Felicia).
