Voted (it looks like some time ago?). I'm sure DRM is a huge factor with these larger Japanese companies. I just wish that, when the inevitability occurs of their games being cracked and made available worldwide, without DRM, for free, that a GOG release really wouldn't be such a terrifying idea anymore.

I fucking hate the art direction with those stubby little midget characters, and they dumbed down the monster encounter difficulty from the Famicom version, at least in the Nintendo DS version.

Hey that was the first rpg I ever beat, but it was the DS version. I loved the Job system even though some jobs were just better versions of others. Good game.

Not likely coming to GOG as Final Fantasy VII and VIII have been on steam forever now with no sign of them showing up,

How does this game? For reference, I liked VI a lot, but found IV and V really boring (IV for the simple mechanics and V for the simple story).

I consider 3 to be the weakest of the Final Fantasy games until 13. You'd not like 3, by your description. It's weak in both story and mechanics.

Well, since you didn't like IV and V, III isn't going to change your mind. It has a more primitive class system and its story is even more simple than that of V.
