MaximumBunny: Which reminds me, there was a PC version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy...team GOG? :D
While we're on the topic, are there any old pc fighters or console ports that we can bring attention to? I can't think of any further back than MK:T...and this is the only other one I can think of that's not on Steam:

SCPM: There's One Must Fall 2097, Sango Fighter 1 and 2, and Xenophage, which are all now freeware. I'm not sure how good they are, I've only played Xenophage, and I didn't like it. Looking through Mobygames, there's quite a lot of interesting old fighting games that I remember seeing in magazines back in the day:
Bio FREAKS Brutal: Paws of Fury Battle Beast Battle Arena Toshinden Battle Arena Toshinden 2 Virtua Fighter 2 Fatal Fury 3 Savage Warriors Primal Rage FX Fighter Time Warriors And the Melty Blood fighting games look pretty good.
And apparently
Samurai Showdown IV got a Windows release, but probably only in south/east Asia
I had one must fall way back when. Given its time period and the fact that one guy more or less made the thing, it's a good early fighter. Nothing excels but it ends up being fun, and it's held in fairly good esteem. Has some leveling mechanics and even fatality like moves. I will say its a bit unique and feels a bit slow before you get powered up. Needs CPU throttling these days to make it playable.
There used to be a solid DOS version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo that I hear is in rights hell we will never see. I lent my copy to the wrong guy 14 years ago...sigh. I guess there was a broken attempt to port X-men children of the atom to DOS PC but somebody borked the combo system. My father just told me he gave away my old Sega Saturn and I internally freaked out a bit because it's the only way to really play that game anymore.
I do still have my retro DOS MK2 disk. Don't know how many people are still rockin that one.
