GOG guys, please return the reputation to the way it was. Now it is very easy to gain reputation, because each post gives you 1 reputation point.
It isn't doing that at all, as far as I can tell. I've made three or four posts already today and my rep hasn't moved at all beyond the single rep point I got for the first post of the day. Is it possible you are seeing a flood of rep from a particular post you may have made that people are rating positive?

EDIT - And now that I've said that, I just got another point right after posting this. Really odd.

Seems to be that way for me too. If so, the old system was much fairer.
influx of users = changing rep.
Apparently

influx of users = Wec changes avatar

is also true
avatar
Weclock: influx of users = changing rep.
Hey, look who's back. :)

Hahah, yeah, this shit is severely entertaining.
Okay, I'm not sure what is really happening, but I can definitely say for certain that we are not getting 1 for 1 post to rep points, but rep is piling up much quicker than it used to. Before I posted in this thread, I had 615. I got 616 after my initial post and 617 with my second. Then I posted in one or two other threads without a rep increase. Now let's see what happens here...

...and its still 617. I don't get it.

I might change my avatar to a GOG monk. Awesome.
I'm not a fan of the avatar and rep count being displayed by post rather than by user, either. I've got an old thread bookmarked where my name shows up with 24 rep and an avatar I haven't used in ages.
^ confirmed... Rep has stopped increasing like crazy.

I wrote to GOG about this, but I doubt they fixed it so fast.

Or have they... we'll see. :)

Somehow I magically got 701 rep after posting here today, and I had like 696 this morning. Huh.
This matters why? Not like rep was ever important. Just an indicator of who tends to answer question topics more than others. Now it is just who posts more than others.

It's probably extra rep points to post in this mess. And it's probably a transition disease. Four days of nooking the servers, not good in my book.
By any realistic standards, rep has been broken for a long time. Before it was too easy to gain and too difficult to lose. Now it's anyone's guess what the hell is going on there.
