Only in the Month Of Gaming Love: Buy at Least 2 Games and Get 10% Off

We Love our Gamers. We Love our Games. February is a Month of Love, so it’s a special time for GOG.com, for you, and for all the DRM-free delight that we’re offering. We know that you’re nice to our Good Old Games. We know that they get all the proper treatment on your computers; you play with them a lot, you care for your saves, you hold a special place in your heart for them.

But a single game in your cart might feel lonely. Our games don’t want to be alone in February. That is why we have prepared a special discount for game lovers and loved games.

Get the games together - add at least two full-priced games into your cart and you will get a 10% discount on your purchase. Make it any games that aren’t on sale- they don’t hate or dislike and any other title will make them feel happy and loved.

Don’t let any game be alone this February.

P.S. When you buy games at GOG.com you always receive the highest advertised discount, but our promos don’t stack. So, if you buy any game on sale for more than 10% off you will receive the higher discount instead of this one, and it won’t count towards our “buy two games and save 10%” special.
1. A random sampling of my backlog: Chaser, Enclave, Far Cry
2. Evil Genius was on my wish list until I realized if I bought it I'd never play it.
3. Through the power of google...a person who is characterized by playfullness
It's also black history month. Can we have 90% off of all games featuring a black character?

siseratv: Just a heads up, the discount is for 2 or more games. So it's like buy 10, get 1 free.
avatar
spindown: Your math is unassailable.
I had this creepy feeling when I read your reply that I know you from somewhere.

Since you appear to be a fan of Lucas Arts adventures:

"Mathematics is fun when you know the secret."

pH7: <snip>

There are some conditions, of course:
1. You must have a backlog of GOG games of at least three titles. List them (3 or more) in your reply.
2. You do not already own Evil Genius. If you don't own it because you don't think you'll ever want to play it, even better.
3. You must be able to define "ludiciopath" convincingly.

The first to fulfill all three conditions will be the winner.
1. Where does one begin: Citizen Kabuto, Fallout 2, BG&E, Patrician 1+2, Stronghold, Heroes 1+2, Might & Magic 1-6, Tex Murphy 2-4, Crusader No Remorse, Feeble Files, I-War 1+2, Last Express, Shogo, Ultima VII, Wing Commander III, Empire Earth, Ground Control 1+2, Jagged Alliance...... even THE WITCHER 2 =P

all of these sit without even the loving touch of a download, forlornly on a digital GOG shelf. Plenty of other games I have only briefly played. It is indeed sadistic to the poor things. Between GOG and Steam I have over 1TB of games installed on my external drive, at least they can keep social company.

2. Unfortunately I am disqualified as EG does indeed sit upon my shelf. It even got a download and a brief play at one point. Although I could indeed get another copy so they can keep each others lonely company.

3. A pathological need to purchase way more than one needs to for their recreational activities.

1, My backlog.......I think I'll consider Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Planescape to be my backlog.......There're just so many mods and fan-made patches out there, so I always go "I'll install it later"......."I'll install it when I have time"........."I'll install it when I have a day of free time".........

2, Hm.....I didn't even know there's a game call Evil Genius before this thread, but to be honest, it looks kinda interesting......

3, A ludiciopath is.......er.......someone going the negative side to chase the positive? going evil to get to good, going wrong side to reach the right? (Sound exactly like what I'm trying to do now.......)

1&2 Here is my gogwiki page, where you can se my GOG collection, (way) more than half of which has not yet been played, and that doesn't include Evil Genius.
3. Ludiciopath: a person whose behavior is anti-games and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility towards games. Ludiciopaths are know to have extensive backlogs of games they'll never play, or sometimes even care about.

grviper: So, 10% off two games in February is a "month of love"... December 50% sale on the entire catalogue must be declared "Orgy weeks" then.
Orgies are not so much about love but more about unbridled passion and lust. So to amplify love to orgy would be unjust to love imho.

1. OH so many and I'm not even counting those I have played in the past and didn't touch on GOG after buying. So 3: The Guild, Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption, Space Rangers 2.

2. I keep eyeing Evil Genius as it sounds like something I'd like but with about 200 games on the backlog of which half weren't even tried I keep skipping it.

3. ludiciopath = a goger. From the latin "ludus" (play, playful) making the ludiciopath a person defined by games, by their obsession to games even. So... a goger :D

And we have a winner; congratulations =)
PM or post which game you want in addition to Evil Genius, and I'll PM you the gift code shortly.

Just for the record for everyone reading: "Ludiciopath" isn't a real word (that I'm aware of), but perhaps it should be, in the same category as sychopath, sociopath and .. empath? or not.

Really? I thought it was the English version of ludopatía.

I wasn't aware of that word, but that would've been kind of convincing. Lack of moral responsibility etc is what I was thinking about, though, not compulsion to play - although I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people here feeling compelled to getting through their backlogs too =)

Weee :)
As a true "ludiciopath" I welcome the possibility to expand my backlog, only to ignore it even further ;)
Thank you!

I'll send you a PM

I think "Ludiciopath" isn't a real word, but, as Gonchi, I think 'Ludopath' would have been a more correct term. I suppose pH7 added the "cio" part from sociopath.

I wish I could gift Evil Genius to all of you - it's great fun and a genre/type of game I wish was explored more by developers - but, alas, I'm too much of a cheapskate to do that. All you'll get is one $5.99 game of your choice.

Edit: Which means at least five games will be VERY MUCH ALONE in the cart this February. (No, I'm not at all bitter, thinking back on Februaries of the past..)

Luckmann: February is the month of love?

What?
avatar
Gonchi: As in Valentine's Day.
Yeah. On the 14th.

Not February.

That's about 1/30th of the entire month.

Really? One 5.99$ game to each? Wow, that's very generous of you! NOT cheapskate by far!

If that's the case then Hitman 1 would most certainly be ignored on my shelf since I'm playing the second right now and I'll follow with Blood Money, both of which I find to be better than the first :D

And if you're bitter you should eat some cake! Is good! :P
