StingingVelvet: How hard is it to get a Visa or Mastercard in Europe? That's an honest question, as I don't know.
Ever since we got Visa/Mastercard Debit cards in the US it's pretty damn rare to find someone who doesn't have one and is over the age of 18.

DelusionsBeta: I think you'll need at least a job, which can be a bit of a problem for unemployed students like me. Ultimately though, I would be a bit more comfortable paying by this method than by credit card or debit card since there's no paper trail and no risk of getting cleaned out (outside of the credit you've paid for).

Nope open a bank account and be over 18 instant visa debit card

AndrewC: It's not about obtaining a Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card in Europe; the problem appears when you're not in the country that issued the card when you want to buy a game. For example, if my card is issued in the UK and I want to buy something from Steam while being in France (thus the Euro part of the shop) I am unable as the billing address is an UK one while the IP address is a French one. You can authorize credit cards to be used in a different region than the one they're registered in (so you can use your UK card in France) by opening a support ticket asking for that (and I got mine authed in around a day).

Actually last year I was in Belgium and also in the Czech Republic and used the Credit Card from my bank in Germany and it all worked fine. For the Czech Republick currency conversion also worked although there was an additional fee I was charged (2%?).
I don't like the prepaid aspect of this paysafecard thing making things more awkward but I like the privacy aspect. However I am fine with credit cards while buying online in trusted shops. Does anybody not trust Steam in this respect?
(The people who are not trusting Steam anyway aren't using it...)

To get pre-paid card in Poland you don't need to be over 18 or have a job or open bank account :-). You enter bank, pay ca 5$, you get 2 years valid VISA card with ability to pay in internet, use foreign currencies, withdraw cash from the card etc. On bank pages there is an information that I can use it outside Poland as well (operations are of course extra charged) so I assume I would have no problems with buying sth in internet while in other country than Poland.

It's useful to note that you get this IN ADDITION to your standard card.

Possible various banks have various selling-models, but as I bought mine - it was like buying an apple in an ordinary shop. You can even buy such card on biggest auction service in Poland (type "karta upominkowa" - all auctions expired now, but next week they should reappear). All in all - there are no requirements to buy it.
I would love to have this payment choice available on GOG. I mainly use it for Steam nowadays and it's fantastic (I live in Portugal). There's a lot of gaming companies that accept PaySafeCard, for example, you can use of League of Legends and Battlefield Heroes/Play4Free, EVE Online, Runes of Magic. There's Facebook as well as Skype...

And the list goes on.

EDIT: And just noticed, pulled this one out of the grave with no apparent reason. Well, sorry about that.

I absolutely agree, everytime i wont to by a game at gog.com i must ask a friend for his paypal account. I realy hope the using of Paysafe will available in the future. I dont want to make a paypal-account for myself by different reasons.

Any statement about paysafe by the gog-crew?

Paysafecard on gog.com would be great. I did'nt have Paypal or a Creditcard so it would be great to use this.
Agreed paysafecard would be cool I deleted my Paypal, don't have a credit card it's not the usual thing to have a credit card here in germany after all :D

Paysafecard would be really really cool :).... using that in Steam now too
I agree.
So, what's so cool about PaySafeCard? Does it have age verification? What are the fees? Can I transfer unused money back to my normal account?
Paysafecard is something you buy in a shop.... like a gasstation (they mostly have it) so you pay the money, without your bank account being involved... which is good if you don't want your bank information in the internet,

that is why out of all options I prefer paysafecard for paying my games..
Bump for the glory of more payment methods!
I would love Paysafecard as a method of paying on GoG.com I too have to ask friends or family if I may use their Paypal account to buy on Good old Games and there is always the benefit of having the possibility for an "anon" paying method.

It also can speed up the time needed to buy if one decides late night (or at holidays) to grab something one could make the way to the next 24h gasstation get a code and be happy at say 3am try that with Paypal if you don't have a CC and your bank account has not enough money on it to purchase but you have cash...

In other words Paysafecard would give me more freedom of choice ;)

The last couple days, I wasted over a 100 EUROS = 130 USD on Steam and not on GOG, because of PaySafeCard.

And the Holiday promos aren't over yet.

Why on Steam & not here? Not because I will ever PLAY anything from either site - but because I live in Europe ( work in IT security = paranoid = don't like my credit card to be cleaned out online).

I have a PayPal account (the irony - I know), but use it by uploading limited resources via my bank (bare with me!) PayPal has my bank account number - but only I can send THEM money. THEY cannot TAKE any!

Oddly, the time it takes to transfer money takes several days. (I think, PayPal is using J.P. Morgan in Frankfurt as a clearing house).

And now - between Holidays - I have lot's of EURO coins in my home. There's a ATM like Prepaid Card Machine 100 yards from my home. I pass there, almost every day, drop some coins in the machine (machine=coins=videogames) get a receipt with a PIN number and go back home, where I can upload the amount I threw in that machine earlier to my STEAM WALLET.

Impulse buy. Purchase instantly. No hassle. No need for ID, Age verification, no endless piles of user data, you have to figure out how to 'protect' according to whatever country your customers on GOG live in. It's like a credit/debit card purchase, but only in reverse.

That's why I spent 130 bucks on STEAM the last days ... and counting, GOG-Duders.
