If you have been paying attention to the news you might have heard about a hacking group called Lulzsec who was behind a lot of high profile attacks over the past couple. According to this article by the Guardian, the leader of this group was a mole who was working for the FBI as part of a plea bargain. It also mentions that the FBI had released some false materials, such as fake e-mails and staged phone calls.

Looks like they're finally getting serious about hacking...won't stop the Chinese from breaking into their computers though. After all, their factories built all the parts.

I've seen a more reliable article somewhere that all they announced was the arrest of Sab, thing is he's a known hacktavist he's likely the first door they knocked on.

True. He wasn't initially working for the FBI, and he wasn't until after he was caught.He had managed to do a lot of damage without their guidance. Let's just say the FBI didn't attack News Corp but did do some low profile stuff while it was gathering information on Sab's co-activists. Of more interest was that the FBI supposedly planted some information that is going up on wikileaks and that was reported earlier this year, it highlights their tactics in combating cyber-crime.

I didn't see the FOX News article when I posted but it seems to be on a lot of the news outlets so I would say its legit. The Reuters, BBC, US News, MSNBC all did stories on it.
