Sure, we all wholeheartedly support the indie market. You'd have to be one hardhearted bastard not to. It's all very well and good to TALK about how great indie games are... but how many of you really PLAY indie games, rather than just buying them and forgetting about them? And which one is your favorite?

I don't spend nearly as much time as I should with indie games. But I think the best one I've yet played has been Machinarium. Just...perfect. However, not the sort of game that lends itself to regular play. It's a point-and-click puzzle game, so once you've beaten it once, you're basically done. I'll also mention The Binding of Isaac, Terraria, and Voxatron, as games that I have put a lot of time into.
At the moment I'm really into Defender's Quest.

I haven't found a lot of time for gaming recently, but this is pretty much the only game I've been playing. It's in a sort of Beta-funding state right now. The game is finished, but it's not finished finished and the price will go up once it's completely finished.
One of my favourites was Aquaria. I finished it, but might give it another play-though some time. Right now I'm playing Unepic, which is absolutely brilliant.
right now i'm having a blast with The Unstoppable Gorg. Great little scifi b-movie theme, you can even see the strings holding the flying saucers on the main menu.

Aquaria... there's every reason in the world why I should love that game, but for some reason I just... don't. I don't think it's bad, but I simply can't get into it.
I buy and play a lot of indie games actually. Favourite? Well I really liked Frayed Knights, Aquaria, Eschalon, Defense Grid, Jamestown, Trine, AI war, the Blackwell series, Dwarf Fortress & Hacker Evolution, but I can't decide upon a favourite.
(And if we are going to count semi-indie, then Penumbra, Magicka & Bastion were also great).

It is a real slow starter. It takes about an hour before it gets rolling, so stay with it.

Past 6 months or so I've put over 30 hours into both Binding of Isaac and Dungeons of Dredmor, and about 20 into Frozen Synapse and Terraria. 10 hours into Avadon and Mount and Blade, Defender's quest, Atom Zombie Smasher, and Orcs Must Die. Have beaten every Blackwell game as well as Gemini Rue, and Limbo of shorter games with little replay value. Handful I've put a couple hours in, some of which I plan to do more but they have steep learning curves (like AI War). I do have a handful I haven't touched but they tend to be in genres I don't care for that I got in bundled packages for other games (like Cogs).

Recently almost all my time has been devoted to Baldur's Gate though.

Dungeons of Dredmor.

And Jamestown.
Actually I think I spend most of my gaming time with indies at the moment.

To satisfy my craving for entertaining stories, I've recently played through some the WadjetEye and affiliates adventures (Blackwell Bundle, Gemini Rue, To The Moon) and I don't regret it, regardless of their poor replayability value (but then again replayability is very low on my priority list anyway).

I've also played through Iji, and I'm having a lot of fun with the platformer RPG Fortune Summoners right now (Japanese indie though, might be a little different from what you're looking for).

For more casual fun in between I currently play Plants vs. Zombies, Blocks That Matter, Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Wizorb, Soulcaster, NightSky, Fractal, Super Crossfire and Cardinal Quest, depending on my mood (not sure if I like the last one, but I have to admit it's kind of addictive despite all :D). I've started a lot more and intend to get back to them eventually, but the ones I mentioned are the ones I actually play atm.

Favorite ... now that's a question to difficult to answer tonight, I fear. And if I did answer it tonight, tomorrow I might already have a different opinion on it again. ;)

Crayon Physics Deluxe stole my life for a week

But I play Dwarf Fortress every morning while I wait for my class to enter the classroom.

I spelled 'Dwarf' wrong xD

I don't know that I spend most of my time on them, but I definitely enjoy them more (especially dollar for dollar) than almost any AAA releases these days. Batman AC was the only thing that even came a little close last year.

AFnord: Defense Grid
I keep coming back to this one as well, it's truly brilliant. Also, I really would like a bowl of raspberries:)

Cthulhu Saves the World. I don't play it anymore, but I put over 60 hours into it before I finished it for good. I played through if 5 times (main game, extra campaign, both of those again on Insane difficulty, and Highlander mode).
Dwarf Fortress all the way.

The zombie carp bites you in the left foot!
The muscle is torn! Many nerves have been severed!
You fall prone <3

Spelunky too, but I've been waiting for the XBLA release.

I don't buy a lot of indie games, but probably a tie between VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy.
