Hard for me to pick, but I think I'd have to go with Painkiller. AvP1 and STALKER Call of Pripyat are pretty close as well.

Go.
Warcraft 3 vs. WoW vs. Starcraft 2 vs. VtM Bloodlines vs. I can't remember which one.

I guess I'll pick Starcraft 2.
Persona 3

It's been 3 years since I played it, I've played dozens of games since then and none of them have come close to Persona 3.
Probably BG2. With Fallout and Morrowind tied for second.

not even persona 4??? :P
BG1 and BG2

Final Fantasy Tactics

Starsiege

Mechwarrior 3

Planescape
Impossible to pick just one game. I would say:

- The Chaos Engine
- X-COM Enemy Unknown (UFO Defense)
- Final Fantasy VII
- Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger
Super Crate Box. It's just so perfect.
Maybe CS 1.6... I love that game and it has provided me with entertainment for the past 12 years.
As for single player games, that's a tough one. Maybe Fallout 2, or Gothic 2...
The new Deus Ex is also up there, that and the original are masterpieces.

unfortunately i spoiled the ending of Persona 4 for myself by accident, so I never took the time to finish it :(

but even then, I doubt it would have had as big an impact as P3 did.
TES:Oblivion or CM03/04........tough choice........
Coronation Street: The Mystery Of The Missing Hotpot Recipe
I'ma let you finish, but... ; )

Myself, personal favorites only, I'm leaning toward Railroad Tycoon II

Crap, or Battlefield 1942 + expansions
I keep going back and forth between Baldur's Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights. BG2 has the better story out of the box, hands down. But NWN has the toolset and SO MANY custom modules, some of which are better than a lot of commercial RPGs, not to mention some very well made persistent worlds.

Oh well, id say its better than 3 in pretty much every way except the story (and story in 3 is only sliiightly better). Better dungeons, social links, equipment, combat, bosses.. and even if you know a major spoiler.. you probably dont know all the spoilers for the true ending? The game psyches you out several times before really ending.
I think nocturne also still trumps persona3&4 for me, though not by very much.
