Dunno, I'm not really a fan of the 80s. I know about the classics and kind of enjoyed them for the most part back in the days, but I can't think of any that I'd actually count among my favorites. And of all the decades of the 20th century, I find the 80s movies have aged the worst. I can hardly stand to look at most of them, let alone stomach the cheesy dialogues so many of them seem to feature. (Or maybe I'm just thinking of the action movies, because they were so prominent in the 80s ...)
I guess
Blade Runner is still cool though. As is
Do the Right Thing.
And I have a soft spot for
A Chinese Ghost Story,
Ghostbusters and the first
Back to the Future. Hm, anything else? Oh, I totally forgot about
Gremlins. And
My Neighbor Totoro, I love that one! And
Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I guess I actually do like several 80's movies after all. :)
Checking other people's posts, I remembered even more of them, like
Batman,
Who Framed Roger Rabbit and
The Great Mouse Detective.
And then there's the goofy
Chicken and Duck Talk, fun to watch with
German voiceovers, hehe. And
Ödipussi, of course - best movie of the 80's! ;)
