Okay I have been a member for quite awhile and usually do not post very often. I visit almost daily though and read comments and site articles all the time. I am writing to pompously and blatantly PLUG a game I have waited to see on GoG.com. YES...where is:

I think it's under Ubisoft's umbrella (since they bought SSI), and we have Ubisoft aboard but we haven't seen a classic release from them in 6+ months which is rather worrying to me.

Ah yes, I bought a copy of Star General years ago. Presumably Panzer General and Fantasy General are better games?

@tfishell Hmmm....heard something about their acquisition but did not pay attention. I was hoping Slitherine would get a hold of SSI. :(

@TheCycoONE Yes Star General is from the same series. If I remember correctly the answer to your question is yes. Star General was actually considered the worst of the three. Panzer General got more fanfare because it is historical. My personal favorite of the three is Fantasy General. It is still the best TBS Fantasy game I have ever played.

Some of the newer titles I have tried are:

Fantasy Kommander - closest thing to Fantasy General I have seen in quite some time.

Pandoras Contact - More like Fallen Enchantress with a different coat of paint.

Fallen Enchantress Legendasry Heroes - A pretty awesome intimidating game.

I think it might be abandonware. I know I've downloaded a copy from such a site.

Get Fantasy Wars, it's a remake, it is so good I prefer it over the original now.

There's Battle for Wesnoth, and it's free.
