Would you guys be willing to have two teams each, or just stick with 8 as our goal? I've talked to people I know outside of GOG who would play.
I prefer not to have each person have 2 teams because we can just trade players onto one team which would make the 2nd team kind of useless. I think it is fine if you can get someone not in Gog to join.
I agree with ruusakraj, having people from outside GOG would be preferable to owning multiple teams.
Bumping.
Bump.

I would be fine with people outside of GOG to play, much better than someone having multiple teams.
I think I'd be interested in how a 6-man team would work, so I'm still in it with the teams we have.

Here's the thing though... I'm about to go on a month-long purge of the internet. Virtually, that means no internet for the month of September. A friend of mine thinks he can't quit smoking and I'm going to show him what strong willpower can accomplish. This dealio starts tomorrow at 6am. That includes not being here on GOG. It's a personal challenge and I decided I want to try to go through with it.

But, I'm making an exception for fantasy football. I'm in another league besides this one, and I've been waiting for it all summer, so to be stuck for a month only to come back in October is a huge detriment. Not to mention this league, as small as it is, is still an obligation.

So, here's the deal: If we don't suddenly get a bunch more players by tomorrow, bench slots will be reduced from 6 to 4, and the flex slot (RB/WR/TE) will be removed. This should help accommodate the low number of teams. Divisions will be gone, and playoffs will be the two best teams in a 1 week final match. Is that alright with you folks? Once draft starts, it's pretty much set in stone.

EDIT: Turns out I can't do 1-week playoffs..The best options I have are 2-week, 4 team playoffs, or no playoffs at all. I opted for the former for now, so we can all fight for not-last. Suggestions?

Sounds fun to me, not the typical FF experience.
Ok "Team Fluttershy" is on board....

You have 7... should you fall short of 8 I can drop if you'd like, since I was the last one in.
Nah, at this point it doesn't matter what the number is.

EDIT: Changed my team name, I'm now Buffalo Buffalo.

I guess I don't understand the reasoning behind reducing the roster sizes nor slots.

Usually, benches and number of slots need to be smaller for larger leagues, because there are a finite number of players. Small leagues usually have more slots and larger benches because there are so many more viable players to choose from that even if someone gets injured, it's easy to find a good starter in the free agent market..

I've known small leagues doing 2 QB, extra flex spots, maybe even 2 TEs. You can't do that with 12 team leagues.
I don't understand the roster change either.
Usually smaller rosters equals a lot of teams, not the other way around.
Coming down to the wire bump.
Aight, how about this:

2 QBs
3 RBs
2 WRs
1 TE
1 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
1 D/ST
1 Kicker
7 bench

I'm switching over to that now. I never managed a league before, just went with gut design instinct.

We really could use another team as I'm not sure Yahoo will let us draft without an even number of teams. You might be able to get around that by changing from Head-to-Head to a points system and I think you can switch it back after the draft, but not sure.
