Well then, it's Valve's fault. Still not DRM's.

Yes show them the light. show them that only by useing steam can they clean there bodys of there earthly sins.
avatar
bansama: Why should I blame publishers for something that Valve coded into their DRM?
avatar
steampires: Join us give steam a try son then you will no longer be hidden in darkness but be one of us who walks in the light.

To walk in the light with Steam everyone on Earth would have to live in the United States.
avatar
bansama: Valve like to say one thing to gamers and then fuck them over at the first chance.
avatar
AndrewC: it can be clearly seen that it's not the case as all games done by Valve are both regionally unrestricted and have the same launch day as well as being distributed by physical media which lets the store adjust the prices (many time to Valves loss compared to only a digital download launch).
As I said before, people need to separate Valve the owners of Steam from Valve, the game studio.

How are Valve coming with the whole €=$ thing? Investigation still ongoing yes?

New titles at 50 euros. What do you think?
They are more expensive than new console titles, at least here.
Though I won't buy any game for at least a few months (online), I still don't plan on buying anything again online as long as I can buy it from a store. Paying 50 euros for new games that come without printed material, without a box and other goodies, no thank you.
The whole idea was to provide CHEAPER games due to not having to print discs, manuals, boxes, shipping, etc. Now they have more expensive in addition to none of the good things, and extra DRM.
Well, fuck you too.

Let them try. This is just a trick to make us give up are holyness and leave the lightful path of steam to fellow there dark and evil path. That will lead to are doom in the next life.DO not give up your faith in steam say strong and in the next life you will reward.

Hate to break it to you, but you're wrong on that one. Left 4 Dead 2 does carry regional restrictions that prevent play outside specific regions. As someone on these forums found out when they were gifted a copy of the game.
Valve are not the saints most try to make them out to be.
I'm actually more upset about the retailer specific pre-order thing. 4 different packs that you can only get by pre-ordering from specific stores. :/

And thats how good Valve are to their customers. We hear complaints that it's actually retail stores that artificially inflate the prices of digital downloads by putting pressure on publishers. However that can only be partially true as there is in fact a massive gap between online prices and retail prices. I picked up Empire: Total War for €34.99 from my local Gamestop while Steam had it for €49.99, thats a €15 mark up for a digital release while Empire came in the Special Forces box with the extras therein. It may partially be retailers but it's also publisher greed if you ask me. You only have to look at any digital distributor to see much higher prices with far less overheads. Even if Steam were charging us $49.99 here in Europe it would still be more expensive than retail which means even in the US prices are inflated on digital distributors.

There will be mods to recreate that DLC within days of release just as there were with DA:O. They will have different names but they will look identical and carry the same benefits.
