Sounds pretty impressive overall, I'm looking forward to the rep system
OBLIVION WITH GUNS
AND GAMBLING
Iron Sights and the FORE! move should please some of the complainers.
Promising as a game, but UGLY AS SIN.
I like the sound of it.
But not the look of it.
So far it seems to me to be a game that's good in theory but lacking in practice. Which is something that brings back nightmares of KOTOR2. It's definitely off of my 'definitely must buy on release' list. It was the only title still on there too.
I was expecting them to do so much more with the environment but right now it's looking like one of the more ambitious Fallout 3 mods out there: Something with input from a large number of uncoordinated semi-pro people. Meh.
Thanks for the link. It's still looking good, and I'm still looking forward to the release.
This game is going to rock hard :D
Despite it being very different from the first games, I really liked Fallout 3. I loved it actually. And if this is more of the same, just with a bit more of the old games feel... that is pure brilliance.
And who cares about looks and graphics? It is still an awesome game. I would expect people on other sites to complain about graphics, but I did not expect to see that here on GoG...
I really don't care about the graphics as the game is going to use exactly the same mod tools as Fallout 3 so within a week or two there will already be lighting and texture packs.
I boycotted FO3 but I'm probably getting this since it's made by Obsidian this time round.

Obsidian have a history of being the go-to developers for sequels. Usually they try just a bit too hard, and the games end up riddled with bugs, with story-telling that walks on the knife's edge between "colourful but average" (NWN2) and "metaphorical and profound" (NWN2: MotB), with KotOR2 ending up somewhere in the middle.

For me it's not so much about the technical shortcomings of the graphics, but rather the complete lack of of atmosphere and creativity they demonstrate. It's like the art team are sleepwalking their way through it.

The main problem with Obsidian is that they're usually not given enough time to create the games. That was definitely true of KOTOR 2 which was nothing like complete on release and never will be. NWN 2 was much better though. Certainly far better than the original.
While I feel somewhat confident that Alpha Protocol has been given enough time by now, the same cannot be said for New Vegas. It has always seemed to me to be too little time to create a game of that scope, and what we've seen so far looks very rushed and recycled.

Sounds like a perfect company for Fallout 3 sequel.

Absolutely ...
As long as it is moddable that will be great; don't care about texture packs - but I like to tweak the play options and of course new quests.

This.
I had high hopes for New Vegas, mostly because Fallout was returning to the Southwestern region of the United States. From those screenshots however, there is not much to distinguish it from certain areas of the Washington D.C. we saw in Fallout 3. Maybe it's that awful engine they are using.
I'm not judging looks yet, this is like what an alpha or beta at best? I'm still not holding my breath I'll look at it when it gets here and not wait for it.
