Ok, so bethesda announced a new fallout game!
it takes place in "New Vegas" and is being developed with Obsidian Entertainment, which is what Black Isle turned into after Interplay laid off the rest of the staff.

This will be the isometric Fallout that everyone wants.

It's coming to consoles too, so I doubt it. It may even use the same engine as Fallout 3, but at least you can bet your ass the writing will be better.

Noob console gamers can't play this game then, right? They want to play mindless shooters.

Do you mean won't? I doubt it, Fallout 3 was "so big" I don't expect anything less. If it was big enough to get me interested into the old games prior to release of 3, then I assume there are already quite a few noob console gamers who have 3 and will want to play New Vegas based off of "how good 3 was" also, I get messages from noob console gamers all the time on my youtube videos, ones who play Fallout 3.

But BioWare also is developing Dragon Age: Origins for hardcore and oldschool RPG gamers. BioWare also made action oriented RPG games like Mass Effect and Jade Empire. Maybe Bethesda will do too for old gamers. This is just hope. Anyway we will learn soon.

Also, with Obsidian on board will mean that the game will not be finished properly, have tons of cut content, and use that godawful Aurora engine with the horrible camera, come with loading screens that would make God himself die from the waiting(see KOTOR2 for a reference...)

heh, I don't think they'd use the aurora engine, I highly doubt bethesda would allow it, I hope they only use obsidian for writing.

Since the Aurora engine is BioWare's, and since the only reason Obsidian used it was because it was used in the games for which they were making a sequel (and from what I gather, they weren't given enough time by the publisher to actually develop their own engine), they won't be using the Aurora engine.

Obsidian do good work as long as they have the time. Definitely be keeping my eye on this one.
