I don't really like these kind of comparisons, I don't think they are similar enough to compare them, don't get me wrong, I love both franchises, but I've heard it too many times.

Being Obsidian made there are some bugs like stuttering near NPCs which is funny since that never happened in FO3. I've only played less than an hour so I can't really say one way or the other, but I'm leaning toward enjoying it.

Around 2 1/2 hours in, must say some of the bugs are a bit distracting. For example while killing geckos a lot of them tend to fall beneath the map in certain places. Iron sights are pretty nice though, using VATS a lot less. Haven't left the starting town but I hope to see more tonight.

I'm having a nasty bug right now where NPCs destroy the framerate. It goes from 60 to 10 fps. Changing settings doesn't help, tons of people have this issue.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate the concept of staggered release dates? Steam won't unlock this for me until 4am on saturday so not only am I waiting the longer time that non americans have to wait but because I'm waiting on an american clock to tick over to the right date, I effectively get it a day later than people getting physical copies. This is NOT the bright new future of digital distribution that I'm looking forward to.

Anyone get it gifted from america? I'd be interested to see how that effects the unlock date

It's been the same since day dot. Only this time it's possible to enforce it. Although I read that Bethesda's promising to unlock it midnight GMT.

The midnight unlock is a nice thing but sadly its only based on american time so its still 4am saturday for me

Just got my limited edition copy!
Got to love the playing cards and novel, really well done SE bundle.

Took the day off for tomorrow, just hope it's worth it

Oh God, 2 hours in and the dialogue is already so much better it's a whole new ballgame. Even the dialog quotes on the playing cards are 10 times better than any dialog in Fallout 3. Game overall though is extremely similar to FO3, though the dialog and added RPG mechanics could still make it very superior.

No tech issues here other than weird white specks on distant geometry.

I love cheating. Fat Man, fuck yeah!

Also, cheating disables achievements right? What if I started a new game? Would the achievements be disabled on a new save as well?
