DelusionsBeta: Talking about No Mutants Allowed, they linked to this, which seem to be the first review, even if it's on a very minor site. Emphasis on "seems to be", since it's pretty much what anyone would conclude by only reading previews. Will wait until I play it before I start drawing conclusions.

Gersen: Seems similar to what I read from various "professional" previewers before : same engine than F3, graphics starting to looks dated, minor changes in gameplay (whose who like me expected a less action and more RPGish experience would be disappointed), the only difference from the one I read is that they seemed to imply that the plot and the characters were more interesting in NV than they were in FO3...
Too similar, for my tastes (hence why I've removed the links).

hedwards: Well, if it comes to that, I'll just sell my copy. What really upset me with FO3 was that you could only get that last DLC if you bought the GOTY edition or purchased it via G4WL. And I can't recall when I found out about that. Definitely after I had my copy of the game. It wasn't an issue until MS decided to try and rip me off with their fraudulent points scheme.
But your copy would be tied with Steam so you wouldn't be able to sell it off as such.

Cryxo: Its good and all, preloads etc... But if one buys it now, it will be a DLC, money draining whore... Just like all the other AAA games out there (looking at you Dragon Age!). Way prefer to wait for the GOTY edition.

The good news is that Steam don't do fraudulent point schemes. They do do dopey currency conversions, but it's a bit better since Microsoft probably does that as well (I haven't checked).

Let me put it this way, I occasionally buy things through Steam, I never buy anything from MS period. I'm not particularly thrilled with all aspects of Steam, but most of the things which I object to don't affect me as I don't play multiplayer games. So it's unlikely to say the least that I'm ever going to have to worry about their anti-cheat mechanism hurting me at all.

But, I do totally understand the allure of being able to preload the game and play it while us suckers are having to drive to the store to pick ours up.

Meh, VAC's small fry now. Banning people from most servers using a specific game engine is pathetic compared to Blizzard, who now bans you from THE WHOLE FREAKING GAME if you're caught.

Indeed.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to this release. Perhaps I'll even drag my PS3 and HDTV upstairs so that I can really stretch out and enjoy things.

Blast, had I thought about it, I could've played through FO and FO2 before Tuesday. I probably could get a ways into them, but they're large games and I'd rather not cheat.
Steam only, avoid.
The ship has sailed, but shouldn't it be F, F2, and F3? I mean, "Fallout" is one word. (Yes, it's pedantic, but you gotta enjoy the little things.)

But you would say that, wouldn't you.

The clue is in the name.
Whats the release date supposed to be? I could swear blind that last night when I looked, it says the game would unlock in 1 day & say 4 hours but now its saying its over 3 days. Have they gone and changed the release date on me?
Tell me how the game is when you start playing. I'm cautiously hopeful that the game is good.

You've possibly got bumped from the NA release date to the EU release date. Soz.

While we're here, Eurogamer has begun the process of lifting the lid on the DLC. The 360 version will be a timed exclusive, launching "in the holiday period" with presumably PS3 and PC versions in the new year.

The NMA folk, while waiting for the review embargo to end (tomorrow!), have been collecting tidbits from Twitter. Only one with a downer is Tom Chick, to absolutely no-one's surprise.

Finally, Dark0ne's gone a jumped the gun. New Vegas Nexus is open and ready for all your modding needs. Shame there isn't any because, y'know, the game isn't out yet.

You'd think that they'd actually put the release date on when its first announced.

Then again you'd also think that one dollar wouldn't be the same as one euro... Oh well hopefully BG2 will be out tomorrow

It appears you aren't the only one. Chalk that one up as a failure on Valve's part.
