michaelleung: We should start a bingo game after every GOG announcement based on the kinds of things people say on the forum.
avatar
SimonG: That is an awesome idea!
I would play the hell out of it.

Now we just need to come up with the actual categories to put in the bingo cards...

That's easy. Things like "WHY NO SYSTEM SHOCK" are obvious.
@ SimonG:

you assume i'm complaining. i simply got confused about the deadline, that's all.
rodzaju cleared that up in a friendly mature manner, which i really appreciated.
thanks rodzaju, by the way!

you linked the "overwhelming self entitlement"? thread:

seems a tad harsh for me making a rather simple deadline mistake, doesn't it?

PLEASE, simon, i'm 37 years old!
let's be civil grown ups about this.

a friend mentioned that i should sign up to gog, because he told me it is a really good place, and everyone is level-headed, helpful and friendly.

i hope that this is just an isolated case of a newcomer being showered with contempt/negativity.

well, we can live in hope. ;)
stop ruining the fun in the future by predicting everything RIGHT :X its not fair

Generally, GOG IS a great place.
Following the conference, there has been a rash of people complaining that they missed out in regards to the various offers (they already had Fallout or they bought The Witcher 2 here, or they have no interest in MAC or IOS, or....).
Then we have people complaining about the guys complaining!
Give it a couple of days to settle down & things will be back to usual.

Then there's Roman5 thanking GOG like how a devout religious person would thank God
I think that's harsh on the OP, he was just asking after all :)

@OP don't worry about it, generally as I am sure you are aware the internet is full of whine which sometimes triggers the reflex response that a person looks to be whining. SimonG's a good guy. :)

Nope. Pretty much our M.O. >:)

Please restrain yourself from being too welcomed here. The emergency escape is on the left while the instant eject door on the right. You can only choose one.

heh, don't worry, they are just messing around. A few threads like this always pop up after a promotion end, and people usually complain. You can call it 'developed automated response' to such posts if you will, nothing unusual :-)

GoG forums are actually quite civil most of the time, and if you hang around, you might win Fallout in one of the forum contests or giveaways, that take place quite often. Or you can just get it for 6 bucks you know, it's not all that much and the game is certainly worth the price (if you are willing to overcome the aged controls, that is.)

Oh right, and before you start using it (you might!) - abbrevation is actually GOG, not GoG. I just like GoG more. It's pretty. You can call me simpleton :D

Edit: Welcome to GoG, by the way!

Let's not be assholes towards a new member, mkay? petertron74 was just confused about the deadline. His post was completely sensible and contained no whining or bitching.
cheers fumarole!

thanks for realising i just made an innocent mistake.

turd happens!

i'm not angry about missing the offer, as it isn't an expensive game to buy, really.
i'll pick it up when i've got through the huge backlog of games i'm currently on..

i'm still stuck on machinarium, atm!

Don't forget the usual Steam bashing/gushing about Steam/bitching about prices threads.

It was a "preemptive strike". No one in this thread can now complain about the promo being to short, etc. Would the OP complained if I hadn't posted this? We will never know. But considering the recent developments here, it certainly wouldn't have surprised me.

Honestly, I don't really care either way....

Don't forget piracy, we didn't have a decent piracy discussion in at least three days!

Fair enough, but the OP seems like a good guy :)

And I counter your move to discuss piracy with my elf mage's shield of "used games discussion"!
