Which is more fun, the Oblivion (elder scrolls) or Fallout 3?
Oh god.

IMHO Fallout 3. It's less generic than Oblivion. In Oblivion, with few exceptions, if you've seen cave/castle ruin/alyid(sp?) ruin you've seen them all both outside and inside. And whoever designed the imperial capital should be shot somewhere where they'll bleed to death, slowly.

Do you like fantasy or sci-fi? Basically, take your pick... They seem to be roughly the same quality to me

People tend to hate those games with a passion so don't be surprised at reactions like stonebro's. I prefer oblivion.

Oblivion was an exercise in copypasta ad infinitum. They took a very, very small amount of content and stretched it beyond breaking point. It was also an exercise in how to not make an RPG.
Fallout 3 I enjoyed a great deal despite its sometimes blatant flaws. I was pretty worried about what they were going to do with it after Oblivion, but it turned out a lot better than I'd hoped.
Graphics: fallout 3 or oblivion.
Wouldn't the newer game look better?

Actually... Nah it wouldn't. IMO Oblivion, 'cause... Well it's not grey :D
Also, there are some graphics MODs for Oblivion increasing texture quality which are essential

But what you are saying about Oblivion for not being grey has to do with the art direction. I thought he meant which looked better as in less jagged, etc...

I have this strange urge to prefer games that actually look better than those with better tech. Just a thing of mine :-P Yet again, comparing screenshots is the way.

Ok.
Pretty open and shut case here. Fallout 3 no doubt.

Yeah, that's why I'm talking about the texture update. Also, Fallout 3 screenshot is pretty impressive - and not what you usually look at. Also, it still hurts my eyes more than Oblivion one :D
F3
Oblivion
Pretty much

Loved 'em both.
Of course, they both have their own share of problems and issues, though...

To be fair there are also texture mods for Fallout 3. If you don't like the green filter effect on everything there is also a mod to remove that. Overall Fallout 3 still has the edge over Oblivion in the looks department.
Personally I found Oblivion dull and tedious while I actually enjoyed Fallout 3.
