So what does that mean for fans of the Elemental universe? The answer is, lots of good news. While Galactic Civilizations III heads towards its March alpha, the Elemental team is hard at work on a new DLC pack for this Winter tentatively called “Monarchs” which will bring more channelers to the world for players to play with. In addition, we expect to announce the third game in the Elemental fantasy universe this year. It will be dramatically different from War of Magic or Fallen Enchantress.

Without giving too much away about the new game, which we expect to formally announce this Spring, its planned feature set includes:

Radically different races (players won’t design units ala WOM/FE but in exchange each unit is custom crafted and visually stunning)
Crafting (the player STARTS with the Forge of the Overlord and getting recipes and loot now mean being able to craft some really cool stuff)
The player starts by choosing their sovereign and deciding what spell book he or she has. The more spell books of a particular type, the more likely the player will be able to use their lore to research rarer spells in that category.
No tech tree. Instead, the available units are based on how you construct your cities.
Each hero has his or her own unique talent tree (there won’t be a “Defender” class for instance) that players can then use to customize their heroes.
Because of the stronger emphasis on magic, vastly more spells will be available strategically and tactically. Sovereign spells are available in every battle as your sovereign, thanks to the Forge of the Overlord, can “see” anything in the world that his/her units can see (as a result, your sovereign interacts with the world indirectly from the capital and doesn’t appear as a playable unit).

It’s been in development for awhile, prior to LH. LH was originally supposed to be a minor expansion on FE but as you’ve probably gathered, we really love making these games. The next update to LH is in the works, pathfinding improvements, performance and some other updates are scheduled.

Many of these features seem quite similar to MOM; can't wait!

1.6 in april
new dlc
2.0 update with huge changes

-new monsters?
-new factions? (dwarfs, elves, goblins?)
-dynasties system from Ewom ?
PLEASE GoG get this game! (Either FE: LH or a patched and properly functioning Elemental). I would LOVE to play this, but the DRM, bugs and fact that I'd have to patch it by creating accounts / jumping through hoops has had me avoiding it. But if you could get it, patched up to date, playable and DRM free I'd be so in!
No chance for Ewom (game is unplayable after 400 turn), you can try find it at amazon, wallmart etc. You can buy Fallen Enchatress drm free version from Stardock (but you must create acc first). Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes is steam only game, but trust me this game is worth to buy. With mods FE LH is a game for years!

He will only get a Steam-key though. Stardock moved to Steam-only with all of their games about a year ago.

Agreed, LH is a very good game.

The new Elemental game Stardock is working on has me quite excited. All those features make it sound a lot like MoM. Which is only a good thing, in my opinion.
Steam key for FE LH for FE drm free version + steam key(im not sure about steam key>i dont get it )

You will only get a Steam-key from Stardock, no matter what game you buy from them. It's no longer possible to download your games from Stardock directly for any new purchases (already bought games are unaffected). That is all done via Steam now.
Some news:

1. Leader's Pack DLC (previously referred to as Spouses Pack) release date is ~April 24th

2. LH 1.7 likely in June, some AI tweaks, pathfinding, eye candy fixes, diplomacy tweaks

3.Expanded Worlds DLC (new map stamps and new tactical battle maps) target date is ~June

4.LH 2.0 likely next Fall, widespread changes to gameplay based on what we know now

5.Equipment DLC (new equipment for customizing your units, more traits) this Fall

If you want more new monsters, items, quests etc use mods like Children of Storm!

you must also create stardock account

i bought the 2nd version and 2 dlc cause gamersgate had them on offer

main game: 11 euros
2 dlc each at 2 euros per dlc (4 bucks)

like i said i hate DRM, i only have steam for some very cheap games, BUT
these stardock guys collect awful lot of data of their clients :D

just check what they collect:

-" Information Automatically Logged"

" We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. This information is used to generate reports on the overall traffic to the site for bandwidth planning and usage statistics."

-> well ip checking, i can live with that all companies collect IP and i hope they have a fun time looking at these IP

"Stardock Activation"

"Some Stardock products require activation over the Internet to use their enhanced versions. Depending on if your order was directly through Stardock or through a third-party, we may ask for your first

name, last name, email address, and the serial number/activation code for the product you have purchased. "

--> name/lastname ? why? there are prepaid services to keep your privacy they promote that on the websites
so do they expect real names? one should always protect his identy on the net cause you never knwo.

why do the need the key? when you regged the game online they have the key:D and they always say : never share your key with anyone, so this is a bit weird

---> and now the worst part"

"Unique identifying information about your personal computer and/or network such as;

IP address,
MAC address,
SID,
Motherboard ID,
hard disk ID,
OS Version

and number of activation attempts may also be collected and logged. "

-->they dont need to know these

MAC address,
SID,
Motherboard ID,
hard disk ID,
OS Version

Number of act. attempts is their own bussiness so i dont care :D

"There are reasonable limits on how often you can activate a given product to help deter piracy, but for most users, this limit will not be reached. If you have difficulties, please contact support@stardock.com. This information will not be used by third parties, but may be used by Stardock to contact you about updates or other Stardock-related news."

---> these things cant do anything bad and w e can always delete them :D

"Cookies
Our Site uses cookies to keep track of items in your shopping cart. Stardock.net accounts on the various websites (like WinCustomize.com and for installing software via Stardock Central) also uses cookies as part of their validation process."

"Advertisers
We use an outside ad company to display ads on our site. These ads may contain cookies. While we use cookies in other parts of our Web site, cookies received with banner ads are collected by our ad company, and we do not have access to this information."

"Some customer data is shared with the advertising companies (i.e. ONLY what they have access to from setting in your cookies). We do not allow advertisers to see any private information including email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, or any other private information."

That is way too much, you dont need that info from your buyers, unless you want to be able to block them completely
(i did some googling on the things they collect)
bigfishgames also has some games that collect data about your harddisk (some number that is unique for every harddisk) when you buy these games and install them they ask for some info, you will see your hd id in the message box.

If for some reasons these game distributors network or sites or activation servers f-up... then the possibilty exists that you wont be able to play the games you paid for cause you might be blocked accidenatlly because there programs f-ed up.
so thats why any form of DRM sux

Unfortunately millions of users dont take it that serious, but millions complain (do some googling and you find 100s of thousand users complainig about why their games f-ed up )
They see a nice game, they buy it but 90% doesnt take the time to see what info is collected and just press buy now and hoppa that cool game is now mine.
Most of them take the DRM and the info collecting way to light, thats wrong they should take it very serious.

Its just a shame that most of the games industry still treats us, the buyers still as a wannabe pirate, they see a skeleton in every closet, and it looks like they treat everyone as guilty until proving innocent :D

So were lucky to have GOG with DRM free games, no ET phone home, no info checking like i mentioned earlier in my post.
Steam and the likes are okay for the occasional 50 cent tot 3 bucks games.
BUT always make sure they wont collect to many unneeded data like stardock does
