Copies of JAAAACK!!!!
orlando
go to:
mondo84!
Azilut!
Congratulations to the winners and all participants. I really regret I don't have any more keys \ money to give, because I loved every single piece posted in this and in the first edition.
Thank you, fellow Jury Members. You were great!

Novotnus, I bow to your generosity! Congratulations to the winners!

Thanks for two great contests!
Congrats to the winners and also a thank you to Novotnus for the giveaway.
Thanks Novotnus; this was one of the most entertaining giveaways I've participated in on GOG! As I said, I was entirely unconcerned with winning and just wanted to get into the spirit of things, but if my humble brushstrokes have brought the true meaning of Keanemas into your hearts, then that, my friends, is the true prize.

Congratulations also to mondo84 for your fine Keanesmanship, and to all the other entrants who expressed their love of the Keane!

As for Jack Orlando, I already had him hanging around on my shelf, so I have re-gifted the code in my "Welcome to GOG" giveaway for new members. The winner, stg83, is no doubt already questioning his decision to patronize our fine establishment. :)

Good to have third Judge accepting new rules :)

Actually the newcomers may wonder what's the deal with JACK!!!
KEANEEE!!!
:)
Yes indeed, to both of the very deserving winners: CONGRATULATIONS!! And while I've already spoken at length about my appreciation for everyone's efforts, I once again say a big THANK YOU to all of the awesome Keaners & Keansomniacs who submitted an entry into this grand two-thread giveaway.

Darilon, thanks again for nearly putting me in the hospital.

Azilut, that's very true. Though I'm amazed that you already had JACK... Orlando on your shelf! It matters not. Please now look at that game with the new understanding that it is a trophy for the 2013 Spirit of The Keane Award from all of us (but particularly Novotnus). You certainly deserve it.

And Mondo, even though you hate me right now and have randomly decided to be a big girl by not speaking with me, please know that I echo Judge Gydion's sentiment; your entry was certainly my runner-up choice, and as Azilut mentioned, your unsurpassed Keanesmanship has deservedly earned you your shiny new JACK... Orlando trophy for the 2013 Spirit of The Keane Award. Well done, my friend.
Thanks to Novotnus and the judges for the prize. In fact I didn't realize entries from the first giveaway were being considered, and I hadn't carefully read this thread and the OP until a couple days ago, so it was a bit of a surprise! Thanks again to all, and congrats to Azilut as well.

@ Eli - I am baffled by your comments at me. I truly have no idea what you are talking about?

edit - I just saw your PM, and I saw there are numerous other PMs before that one. I didn't even see those until now, and I'm rather shocked. Suffice to say, I don't think name-calling or stating false assumptions in this thread accomplishes anything.

fronzelneekburm: Ever played Kingdom: The Far Reaches by any chance?
avatar
Novotnus: Nope. I have it, but never pulled myself to play it. Is it really that bad?
You might want to ask BloodyGoodGames about it if you see her around. I vaguely recall her describing it as the single worst game she has ever purchased. (Edit: Though I might be confusing it with Torin's Passage.)

I honestly don't remember how I ended up with it... I may have won it in a previous giveaway or gotten it in a bundle or something.

I... kind of liked Torin's Passage. I even hoped it'll get a sequel as the story is not concluded at the end of the game.
Kingdom's subforum has some negative comments, but none from BloodyGoodGames... Maybe there is something on her review blog?
Edit. Found her thoughts on the game's page in reviews section. That's what she said:
"They just don't get any worse than this. "

Edit 2.
I'm downloading it now :) After all this time of it gathering dust on my shelf...

Haven't played either of them and I'm not passing judgment - I just figured I might have confused them due to them both being older adventure games with similar cartooney art styles.

Well, mission accomplished, because making an ass of myself produced a quick solution! :-D

Honestly, I had no idea why you weren't updating your thread or getting back to me, but I hoped that calling you a big girl would be a humorous enough "insult" to get your attention either way, and that you wouldn't be offended if it was what it turned out to be. I did not mean to offend you. If I had, I would have actually insulted you. Sorry for the crass tactic, though. Would a free copy of EWJ be a sufficient bribe to ignore my sometime boorishness?

EWJ 3D, you mean? :)
Of course! THE BEST ONE IN THE WHOLE WORLDZ!

I have played both of them. While I must admit that I'm not a big fan of Torin's Passage, at least it's a decent enough point&click game (even though it's one of those "move your cursor over everything and see if it changes" dumbed down to no end late adventure era games).

Kingdom on the other hand doesn't even qualify as a game. It is a crappy '70s saturday morning kids' cartoon. Interactivity is strictly limited to watching videos, which get paused every once in a while to let you click on one of two items you carry in your inventory. If you don't happen to have the required item, it's instadeath for you. This one REALLY earns its place near the bottom of gog's catalogue. Still, at least you'll get cheap laughs out of it (at least I did) and you can marvel at what people in the early nineties thought qualified as entertainment.
Good that my role as Overseer is over. :p

And congrats to the winners and thanks Novotnus for another Keane GA.
