Forgive me if this was already mentioned - I ran a search and nothing popped up recently.

Steam has added Fable: TLC, and it's on sale for $2.50! I realize some of you consider this a lame and uninspired action-RPG, and will read this and go "meh," but I have been very fond of the game for a few years now and I'm looking forward to finally getting to finish it. I just thought I'd let people know in case anyone else was interested!

Yeah, sorry but meh.

Well it's the best in the series!

Honestly, it's a fun game. And now since it is so cheap, I see no reason not to grab it :)
Is this the game in which a do-gooder character looks like Santa by the end?
I loved it on Xbox, and for 2.50, it's worth double dipping for. It's absolutely worth playing in my opinion.

I liked the game (OK I liked it a lot) and played through it twice, partially played through several other times, but it's been a while since I last played. It's definitely much much better than most indie games, so at $2.50, it really is a steal and very much worth a try if you haven't played it yet. Chicken chaser.

ARGH!

TALE SMASH CRAPPY GAME! TALE NOT STAND ABUSE OF CULTURAL CONCEPTS OF HEROISM AS A PLACEHOLDER FOR CHARACTER REFERENCES! TALE THINK ALL DIALOGUE COME ACROSS AS BAD JOKE!

Odd, I've always thought of it as a spoof of its own genre. I wish some of the more clever ideas (like your hero changing physically based on the way you play him, and aging over time) had been used by other games (by Akatosh, I'd die for this in an MMO. Maybe with descendants taking over for your character and transferring wealth down the family line). I love the game, but it really plays better if you have no expectations going in and are looking for a casual gaming experience. It's definitely not for the hardcore fans of...uh...well, games that are more hardcore?

Oh, and since people are already having fun with the comments, the creativity and inventiveness of Fable does earn it a place in my top 20, and I fully expect finishing TLC to bump it up to top 10.

Hmm. Amusingly enough, the Hero's Journey is basically used as the script for this game. As it is for all Elder Scrolls games, the Ultima games, Star Wars, the Shannara Books, the Lord of the Rings...

And I realize that's a bit of a strong statement, so here's a citation (Wikipedia, for what it's worth, but if you genuinely care Wiki has links at the bottom to more dependable sites)

TALE HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE CONFUSE ALL STORIES OF HEROISM WITH THE JOURNEY OF ODYSSEUS!

TALE THINK PEOPLE TOO OFTEN CONFUSE THE QUEST WITH THE HERO'S JOURNEY, WHEN A KEY POINT OF HERO'S JOURNEY IS THE RETURN HOME. TALE THINK STAR WARS NOT THE ODYSSEY AND WE SHOULD ALL FEEL LESSER FOR LETTING PEOPLE PRETEND OTHERWISE.

Tale also think the Hulk gag getting old. *cough*
Is there such a thing as quadruple dipping? Bought this (the original release) before TLC released on Xbox, bought the TLC version on Xbox, bought the PC TLC on GFWL like a month ago and bought it again on Steam. Absolutely love the first Fable.....if you couldnt tell.

Yes.
Just bought it to have it on my steam account. Great game, love it.
Never played this, but played and completed Fable 2 (which I hardly ever do with games). This should be worth a punt for less than two quid.
Loved this game on Xbox (back before I grew up and got a good PC), and couldn't have been more excited to find it on Steam. Bought it last night for my wife to play though, as Fable II was the only game she ever finished.
