The first one is definitely worth getting if you're into FPS. I wasn't overly impressed by the sequel's demo but apparently it's not bad. Just not as good as the first one.

The first one is great. The only real complaint I have is the lack of environment and enemy variety - really surprising, since it's a Monolith game.
I didn't play the second one, but many people consider it to be worse, and consoles are often blamed for the changes - no saving except save points, no leaning and decreased difficulty (as if the first F.E.A.R. wasn't easy enough). I've heard that there were plans to patch in additional difficulty setting, but I stopped tracking the game, so I don't know if they implemented it eventually or not.
