so I got the platinum edition of guildwars, which included prophecies and eye of the north.
I already had the collectors trilogy from steam and wanted to play eye of the north.
I added the access key to my account, and it said it'd be unable to add the prophecies parts, because I already have them.
That's cool with me, I already have it, whatever.
So I add the access key, and guess what? there's no place for me to choose eye of the north. I've logged out of the client, closed it, reopened it, nothing.
I sent a ticket into ncsoft, but it's the weekend and I doubt they'll respond quickly.
Does anyone have any idea why it isn't there? does anyone know why I can't play my game I bought?

I have no idea for a solution, but your post does make me want to get the trilogy as well. I registered the Collectors edition of the original game way back but that is where I stopped.
I might be misinterpreting what you're saying, but if I'm reading it correctly, you're trying to start a new character in the Eye of the North campaign. If I am reading it correctly, your problem is that EotN isn't a standalone campaign, it's content made for characters who have already beaten one of the three main quests. I'm not exactly sure how you get to the EotN campaign, but it's probably on the Guild Wars wiki.
Hmm, Weclock, I'm not sure to get what you mean...
I mean, unlike Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall, Eye of the North is not astand-alone campaign. Which means that with Eye of the North you'll get no new class and no start at lvl1. Instead, with your regular characters, you have to find the quest(s) that will lead you to the Eye of the North.
So, it's normal that you cannot "choose" Eye of the North like you can choose Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall in the start menu of GW...
Did I understand what you meant ?
EDIT> Darn, PoSSeSSeDCoW beat me... ^_^

Ok, I guess I figured out that much already - I suppose I'm going to have to morph my original question into - how can I verify in game that I have access to the eye of the north content without viewing my access keys? (because it's there) and without actually going to those locations? I only have characters that are a long way away from end game on factions and prophecies.
Open up Guild Wars, log into your account. In the top right it should have a link to the store. Click on it. In the store it should have the option to buy Eye of the North, click on it and scroll down. Where the price would be, it will say "Already Purchased." if you own it and the price if you don't.

From what I remember, you don't need to be near the end game to find one of the rifts (or is it caverns?) that lead to the EotN area...
Umm.. As soon as you find one, you'll see them on your world map as a gate. That's the sure fire way of knowing it's active and present on your account.

I've done that, and I'm still not entirely sure.

I thought there was one in Ascalon (I got that mixed up with the early game of Nightfall), but there's one in Kryta.

More maps, possible spoilers
EDIT: If you're up to Kryta, yeah, check out that map.
EDIT 2: Oh, and don't look for a gate in the actual game, it's more of a cavern or hole in the ground. It just appears as a gate on your world map.

I'm in factions, the prophecies character I have is just barely post searing

Wow.. Factions is by far the hardest campaign.
Regardless, you'd be in luck if you're up to Kaineng City...

yeah, I'm far away from there.
is there anyway I might be able to see some armor or one of the expansion skills thru pvp?

I'm not too sure, sadly never got up to much PvP in Guild Wars (didn't really enjoy it).. But the Official Wiki should become your new heroin.
I considered it cheating at first, but there's a wealth of information in there. Including pictures of armour sets, list of skills (both normal and elite, and their PvP counterparts).
I really do suggest you have a massive browse, or at least keep it open so you can alt+tab to your browser while in game. =)

I've been reading it, but the information I've been looking for has been missing or largely unhelpful.

What are you looking for specifically? I didn't really understand what you meant about seeing some of the expansion skills through PvP...
Actually, I might be wrong, but if you want to test run the skills obtained in the expansion while in a PvP arena, I think you have to go through the whole grind/unlock thing. If that's what you were asking...
The downfall of the Wiki is that it can be all over the place, the information is there, you just have to hit a billion links before you get to what you want to know.
