Some of the best games I remember playing when I was younger....anyone know if there's any plans to ever bring the games on here (especially the 2nd one, that was truly amazing!)
hit it Roman5
Great games produced SSI.
Al-qadim
Dark Sun
Eye of the Beholder
Ravenloft

Does anyone know who have the rights to SSI games?
Ubisoft.

oh god...
The first two games of the series are cool, the third one is technically shitty for the most part.

Anyway, while you wait for GOG.com to get the series, I've recently purchased the CD-ROM compilation and plan to enjoy it in full asap (I mastered just the first EOB years ago) :-P

Yeah, the second game is definitely the pinnacle of the series, and the third one did not thrill me at all. The "All Attack" button was nice though :)

Dungeon Hack was a very nice "not quite spinoff" as well.

Regarding that link though, wasn't Solar Winds released as freeware at some point?

Dunno, the first episode ("The Escape") was shareware, the second one ("Galaxy" or "Universe") was not (you could purchase it by registering the first episode or by getting a boxed edition like the one I now own). Anyway I always like to get the boxed, original version of a game - even if it's available as freeware now :-P
Westwood Studios was behind the great EOB 1 and 2 - While EOB 3 was left to be done in house when Westwood went on to do Lands of Lore - The True successor to EOB. Three is playable and fun at points but you can certainly see that Westwood was the reason why 1 and 2 were as good as they were.

Well, right now it's , [url=http://www.ebay.it/itm/Advanced-Dungeons-Dragons-Eye-of-the-Beholder-PC-/130628754132?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item1e6a149ad4]here and here.

Though I was able to get a completely new, still sealed and not-that-pricey copy of the EOB CD-ROM compilation (it's in perfect conditions, it just needs a bit of rusty staple-replacing from some of the included manuals and promo papers). Be perseverant, and life (or eBay, for the matter) will give you the fuck you want :-P

Ive ordered a copy of EOB1,2 & 3 from usa today on cd rom, i hope it works on my PC!!!
I managed to download a free copy but i cant get sound to work as only two options for sound, either soundblaster (nothing happens when i select this - i used to have soundblaster 16 back on my p90 lol), or build in internal midi, i dont have built in sound so my pc makes a horrible screeching sound lol, so i cant play it with no sound :(
Fingers crossed this cd rom version will work

On my system it just works perfectly right out of the box with DOSBox default settings...

when you did the setup did you have to select either soundblaster or built in sound or did it not ask for any type of sound?
