Thank you for sharing this, Lou! +1 all the way.

I'm still thinking of whether I should get it or not, though, usually these types of games tend to be too complex for me, and as I'm getting older I seem to be less able and willing to invest my time and dedication in a video game.
Is this legit?

No mention of permission from anyone to give this away... (that I saw)
Looks like regular abandonware to me, also EoB3 was the weakest of the trilogy

Thanks for the heads up, it was interesting to read about AESOP/32. I will leave this to be forgotten though. I have EOB 1-3 on disc, and since of all of them I only started EOB2 and hardly played it (though that was largely because right-click on the tablet didn't work well), and EOB3 is supposed to be inferior, I'll be waiting until I finish EOB2, which won't happen any time soon.
Has it gone freeware? If so, maybe a GOG release? :)

I doubt it, all D&D licensed stuff is owned by Hasbro.

That's what I'd like to know. Just how is this legitimately free?
You know, it's interesting, I heard talk on that "vogons.zetafleet" board a while back that apparently part of the source-code for the Aesop engine (the modified engine of Lands of Lore and EoB 1-2 used for EoB 3 and Dungeon Hack), and also they was talk of maybe EoB3 and Dungeon Hack getting ported to ScummVM because of it.

Hey Lou, I know you mean well but could I ask you to remove that link due to the fact that the legality of the link is dubious at best? Believe me, I don't like asking this but this hasn't been officially announced as freeware by the rights holder.
I wish they would have fixed the interface or at least provided remappable keys. I don't know how anyone could think it would be a good idea to move around using the keys on the right-hand side of the keyboard and have to use the mouse (which most people do with their right hand).
