I've never had an Advent Calendar. But I don't like chocolate (some chocolate I like, but most tastes bad to me plus hurts my teeth).

I was so spoiled as a child. I probably had about 20 Advent calendars every year, a good portion of which were the chocolate ones. It took forever opening them each day...

Advent calendars are 'meh' to me.

Now, if my girlfriend brought me one from her mum's chocolate shop, that'd be a different story, because that place has AWESOME chocolates. >.>

That's an awesome tradition and I didn't know it until I saw this thread... ;)

What exactly is an advent calendar anyway? is that some kind of fancy thing they do in the west or what?

It's over here a bit to the east either. It's ... Well, it's used to count down first 24 days of December.

Haven't had one in years. But they can be found pretty cheap in Pound Shops here (though not too sure how good the chocolate in them are).

I like white chocolate. But haven't really bought any chocolate in years. But I remember some cheap calendar thing.. It was neighbors. ^^

Nah, I once had real chocolate calendar which was mine, all mine. Bought it myself. Like many of you, to treat childhood traumas. =)

I once got an advent calendar.. In February.

Not just for kids. i once had a Schnapps advent calendar, a different flavour of Schnapps every morning :)
For some reason the last day was a pair of gloves, very disappointing.

You can also get whisky and gin ones :D
