So where does that leave Flubbucket?

Your logic is flawed. What if, f'rexample JMich WAS a human town vanilla? Then "I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans." would still make sense wouldn't it?

JMich you don't need to try and clarify anything. I think this is just confusing matters and leading us into the lands of 'accidentally giving to much information away'

Do not go to these territories. The local food is fairly repugnant.

Better have a flawed logic then no logic at all...
In a mafia game NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING can be certified. There will always be "what if this" and "what if that" ..

The worst possible thing we can do is sit with our arms crossed, waiting for a mafia to make a false move.

I ask you people, would you rather wait for certainties that will NEVER come ?
I for one, am NOT afraid to be put in harm's way provided it reveals some mafia identities.

N0x0ss: "I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans."

Meaning :- I'm not an ALIEN town vanilla, otherwise I'd be sure that not all town vanillas are humans instead of only doubting it.

The use of the word doubt can only mean that he either a Mafia or has a power role.
Hold it. I replied "I doubt all town vanilla are humans" because I assumed from post 60 that you claim to be a human town vanilla, thus the part about softclaiming. Do you mean that you deliberately posted false claims, in an effort to lure scum out?

N0x0ss: Again... what's not to understand ??
I'm not rolefishing, I'm stating the obvious.
Allow me to ask you (again) to read post 27, where CSPVG has already claimed to be an extraterrestrial, along with post 60 where you are asking (more or less) for the extraterrestrials to say if they have a role or not. CSPVG also pointed that out, but I don't think your answering post had a reply to the rolefishing accusation. It did though have an "I'm almost always right" phrase.

N0x0ss: Infact if you read the OP's initial message, there are NO Human townie vanillas. Not a doubt Jmich... it's a FACT.
If you were a townie, you'd know :) (Phoenix right moment !)
It does? Where exactly does it say that?

N0x0ss: "You found highly disfigured remnants of Kang, one of you and one of the most familiar with this town. It is apparent it was one of you, being not born on Earth, and now it is time to find the the truth behind this. "

The OP's message is meant for the good side, so I suppose none of the good guys are humans.
What I read in the OP is that the people defending the town against invaders may be earthpeople, but the mafia are extraterrestrials. Since you did post that you are a human (again, I assume, based on post 60), my assumption was that we had at least one earthling, and a human claim could (at a later point) be used to prove affiliation.

N0x0ss: Sorry if I misled you, wanted to see if somebody would contradict me.
We are probably fighting against xenophobic alien hunters....
So you falseclaimed to lure people out. And you also dislike LAL. What's next, claiming to be a doctor or a cop to identify the actual power role? Claiming to have tracked me during the night when you were actually blocking someone else? And still claim to do all that to catch scum?

Pre-post edit.
No, a flawed logic is worse than no logic. Again, see game 15. My male/female theory led me to exonerate a scum and doubt quite a few gangsters. But your assumptions are usually right, unlike mine...

I'm sorry, I know I said that talking about roles had basically run its course for the time being, but I have to address this.

1. JMich accused you of rolefishing in light of a post I made ages ago. I struck upon the same line as you did, and said as much in post sixty. If this is the sort of logic you're using to accuse JMich and me of rolefishing, then I feel you are being disingenuous, as JMich made the same claim about you using my post as a sort of proof( not to take any credit away from JMich).

2. The original post does mention aliens as the bad guys, referring to them as sinister alien forces. You said as much on page 3 of this thread, and now you claim that all the 'bad' guys are xenophobic alien hunters. I know opinions can change, but this seems to be contradictory to me.

CSPVG: You said as much on page 3 of this thread
A small piece of advice, use post numbers not page numbers, since not all people have the same posts per page. I have it set at 50 per page, so we are still in page 2.

Sorry... Didn't mean to be obnoxious....
I might be wrong of course. Feel free join SirPrimalform in voting against me if you believe my intent is to harm the townies or you're better off without a clumsy townie like me (if you believe i'm town).

I would probably falsely claim I'm a doctor or a cop if I believe it can help my game witch ever side I'm on.

I'll remember that.

In light of this, two corrections:

1. I meant to say, while making my first point, that I had, "said as much in post twenty-four," and not, as I stated, in post sixty.

2. While making my second point I should have rather said,"You said as much in post sixty of this thread," as opposed to my initially stated page 3.

Yes, I'm well aware I contradicted my statement and I'm sorry about that. I didn't change my opinion, I'm just trying to gauge people's reactions and trying to make the best out of the Alien/Human dilemma.
What happens if I say All humans are townies ? What if I say All mafia are townies ? Trying to study the players reactions...

There is now the problem that we can't trust you properly because we know you've contradicted yourself. This is the reason the lynch-all-liars idea exists, because otherwise scum can get away with all sorts just by putting it down to the kind of strategy you mention in your last post.

I apologize if I seem untrustworthy. If you wish not to trust me, it's your choice.
Please remember that it does not mean however that I am Mafia.

JoeSapphire: Perfect! We demand that they be the only ones who lie, so they insist on telling the truth and we can plainly see who the mafia are.

The point of me saying it now is so that we establish that a townsmember will never lie. When it comes to deciding whether or not to lie there is always a risk involved and I'm saying 'why not, for this game, simplify things by saying that we only have the mafia taking that risk.'

Still it will only work if everybody agrees on it. We could put it to a vote? Everybody in favour of having a "lynch all liars" preceedent for this game should vote on my side, and everybody who isn't should vote against my side.
Come on everybody! Vote JoeSapphire!!

...oh no wait don't do that!!

Mister Twister, what do you think? I know that there's not much to say at the moment (And I recommend you avoid mentioning anything about your own role or the whole "who is alien and who is human" thing) but how about you just give us a guess of a mafia team as of right now? There's probably three of them. If you are mafia yourself you should name your other two teammates and then make up a name to replace your own. You have the right to not incriminate yourself.

oh yes, I'll write unvote just in case Vitek is mean.
I'm still lurking and voting nolynch. I don't care if people find it stupid. A vote right now will most likely just give us two dead innocent people in stead of one. Right now I'm just waiting to see which way the cat jumps.
Geez, I wake up and there's so many posts to read.

Lift I'm on the fence about. He tried to take a RVS vote fairly seriously and called it bloodthirsty. I knew I should have tried the whole Clue routine <.<.

Flubb's avatar is enough to give me nightmares...

@N0x0ss: I'm a fairly big voice for LaL, for that reason. A townie that manipulates other townies to off potential mafia (And not people they have confirmed by power roles or whatnot), is no better than the Mafia, because they're willing to throw their own roles into WIFOM territory. It goes from 'All town are honest', to 'Ok, now I have to figure out exactly what posts of his were lies, and what I can believe'. Town lies are a gift to the Mafia, because they can start discrediting people through that.

And as far as Mafia are 'stupid enough' to target a potential power role like that in hopes that he isn't protected...I'm not so sure I want to really go there, besides saying, I've done it in the past.

@Twister: While I admit there is a risk, it's very possible to get lucky, for a Mafia member to fuck up. And even if we don't, once out of the RVS stage there's information to be gained from a proper lynchwagon. Who voted, when did they vote, why did they vote?

I'm gonna unvote Joe and take a few minutes to gather a few thoughts before I toss mine onto another person.

Sigh. Let's go over it again.

You assume that no-lynch is a proper course of action. So we reach a no-lynch majority vote, with a bit of back and forth among us. Then night falls, and we find ourselves in the morning with a dead townie. What extra information we have at the beginning of day 2? That person X was townie. Do we have any other information? Almost nothing.

Let's now assume that instead of voting nolynch, we voted for person X during day 1. We have a bit more discussion to discern, along with hammer vote, and people who pushed a bit harder for a lynch than they should. We may also have a claim from the soon to be lynched, which may persuade a few people to remove their votes or not. Such claims may also give any power roles a target to investigate/protect during the night phase.

Ideal scenario for mafia is a nolynch reached with the minimum discussion, since they can then start picking us off one by one without tilting their hand that much. While nolynch does have its place in a mafia game, Day 1 isn't that place. When we have minimum information, a lynch will help us a lot more than nolynch. When we do have quite a bit of information on the rest of the players, a nolynch can prevent killing an innocent, but it does depend on the setup quite a bit.

I don't believe your intent is to harm townies, but I do find your way of playing possibly hurting town. And how exactly would a false claim of doctor or cop help town if you are a townie? Only scenario I can think of is if a cop has already cleared you as town, then you claim a power role to draw a night kill, since if you aren't (yet) confirmed as town it is quite likely that the true power role would counter claim, causing you to be lynched. Remember, mafia is a team game, not an individual one. And lying to your team mates is rarely helpful.

SirPrimalform: You have to go by whether the forum software thinks it's been 10 minutes. Best way to check that is to refresh the page and look at the "X minutes ago" at the top of your post. Unless that's what you did, in which case they've bloody changed the time limit...
