JMich: Ok, so N0x0ss in post 60 softclaims, and throwing in CSPVG's post 24 it does look a bit like rolefishing.
I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans.
For me it can only mean 2 things : You're either Mafia or have a Power Role. I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans.
If you were a vanilla townie, you'd assume that all vanilla townies were human.
If it wasn't the case, and you were indeed a vanilla townie alien, you'd be sure that town vanillas can be aliens, so you couldn't "doubt" about anything.
CSPVG is indeed rolefishing, and you my friend are no vanilla townie.
If you had a Power Role, you've just blown your cover... (Quite recklessly I might add)
If you are Mafia, time will tell. (We'll probably know if you survive this night killing)

I have two propsitions:
Firstly can we drop the subject of what the possible roles might be? Sure it's interesting but we're just giving information away and achieving nothing.
Second can I propose a Lynch All Liars rule? I think it makes things a lot simpler. We don't have to and sometimes there are good reasons for a townsperson to lie, but if we don't lie at all then it makes things a lot simpler when someone gets caught out in a lie.
So - unless you are mafia - DON'T LIE. If someone get's caught out in a lie we lynch them. How does it sound?
If you are mafia then lie in a ridiculously overcomplicated way that is entirely unbelievable. It would make things much simpler. Alright?
This brings me onto roleplaying. Roleplaying is basically lying, and it can confuse things. ("I said I went to X's house for a cup of tea but it was just in role.") Or something. Overclarify if you must.
What do we think?
There've been questions about Twiglet?
I just went through and read his three posts and I can't see anything suspect there - he's barely had time to start the game. Twiglet Bard, tell us what you think of the current events?
Pazzer - what was your reason for voting nolynch?
ARGH N0xx0ss!! Please can we stop this!! We've not even had one night and you are trying to unveil possible powerroles. We're giving away too much information.

N0x0ss: For me it can only mean 2 things : You're either Mafia or have a Power Role.
If you were a vanilla townie, you'd assume that all vanilla townies were human.
Why would I make that assumption? Last mafia game I did have the assumption that females were the good guys and males were the bad guys, and that was with a sample size of 5 people, though the assumption was wrong. Do you make that assumption knowing only your race and role, or do you have more information? If you were a vanilla townie, you'd assume that all vanilla townies were human.
N0x0ss: If it wasn't the case, and you were indeed a vanilla townie alien, you'd be sure that town vanillas can be aliens, so you couldn't "doubt" about anything.
And by replying with a "No, aliens can be town vanilla", what would that say about me? You do recall what the role of town vanilla is, right? I didn't accuse CSPVG of rolefishing. I accused you of rolefishing.
N0x0ss: If you had a Power Role, you've just blown your cover... (Quite recklessly I might add)

Just like you said, time will tell. Let me refer you though to Gamerager in game 15. If you are Mafia, time will tell. (We'll probably know if you survive this night killing)
@Joe
I'm not sure how I feel about Lynch All Liars. Though a good idea in principle, there are times a townie would lie, since that can draw a night kill his way. Especially if he is a vanilla trying to look as a power role.

JoeSapphire:
I'm in full agreement with both of your propositions. The conversation about various roles has been mined for all its worth at this moment in time. What avenue of discussion do you suggest we follow then?
Off topic: Do you change your avatar as per the theme of each mafia game?
N0x0ss:
Your accusations are baseless. JMich's post clearly states that he believes you to be rolefishing, not me.

I tend to make right assumptions usually. The only regret I might have, and Joe pointed it out, I may have fed a Power role to the mafia. Then again, no mafia would be stupid enough (or I hope) to attack JMich while somebody is protecting him or watching him (Provided we have more then one power role in play).
Sorry If it may seem I'm doing more harm then good, but it's part of a strategy.

P1na: Should we act like ourselves at all times or can we roleplay to some extent, if we feel like it? Asking since it may get weird if some players do and some players don't.
I am not going to dictate how players should play this game. I am here only to supervise you, not to control you. Sort it among yourselves.
Tsk, tsk. Be careful next time.

Isn't the attempt to entice others to give information away part of the game? I mean, how are the townies supposed to stand a chance, without gathering information? Or do you WANT the townies to remain clueless? As for introducing a Lynch All Liars rule, I think that is pretty pointless. As other stated, there may also be reasons for townies (or good power roles) to lie. Sure, anyone caught lying will look suspicious. But I think it's up to every one individually to decide how to weigh such a suspicion and what to vote.
Introducing a fixed rule of lynch-criteria will only hurt the townies, because every rule can be abused by those who don't follow it (and the evil side will not follow any rule we set).

There are different ways of getting others to entice information. More often than not, it's the omitted parts that give people away, the demonstration of information you shouldn't actually have or posting without thinking. Giving (again) an example from game 15, Gamerager falseclaimed as a town vanilla, though the claim wasn't in the same format as the rest of the town vanilla (or more precisely, mafia goons. 15 was a weird game). People kept pushing him for a proper claim, thus he did say he was bonesetter Chang, which did mean he gave away his doctor role. So it is a thin line between gathering information and demanding it outright. Lifthrasil: As for introducing a Lynch All Liars rule, I think that is pretty pointless. LAL is a semi-standard mafia game rule. A townie shouldn't have any reason to lie, and doing so is more often than not detrimental. We are all encouraged to omit details and try to deflect questions, but claiming something you are not is frowned upon. I may drop hints as to my role without actually having one, or drop say I don't have a role while I do, but when I finally have reason to tell the truth, why would the others believe me? Lifthrasil: Introducing a fixed rule of lynch-criteria will only hurt the townies, because every rule can be abused by those who don't follow it (and the evil side will not follow any rule we set).

Not a fan of LAL, because I believe a Vanilla townie and a Power Role should be able to lie and manipulate other townies in order to get rid of a potential mafia.
I know that if everybody play with their own rules, it will result in anarchy and mafia would probably win, but sometimes people should get dirty to catch the bad guys or to get the truth out.

N0x0ss: Because asking what our stand on aliens and humans being townies is, is not indirect role fishing ??
This is the post that has caused me to vote for you: N0x0ss: For me it can only mean 2 things : You're either Mafia or have a Power Role.

Perfect! We demand that they be the only ones who lie, so they insist on telling the truth and we can plainly see who the mafia are.
The point of me saying it now is so that we establish that a townsmember will never lie. When it comes to deciding whether or not to lie there is always a risk involved and I'm saying 'why not, for this game, simplify things by saying that we only have the mafia taking that risk.'
Still it will only work if everybody agrees on it. We could put it to a vote? Everybody in favour of having a "lynch all liars" preceedent for this game should vote on my side, and everybody who isn't should vote against my side.
Come on everybody! Vote JoeSapphire!!
...oh no wait don't do that!!
Mister Twister, what do you think? I know that there's not much to say at the moment (And I recommend you avoid mentioning anything about your own role or the whole "who is alien and who is human" thing) but how about you just give us a guess of a mafia team as of right now? There's probably three of them. If you are mafia yourself you should name your other two teammates and then make up a name to replace your own. You have the right to not incriminate yourself.
oh yes, I'll write unvote just in case Vitek is mean.

"I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans."
Meaning :- I'm not an ALIEN town vanilla, otherwise I'd be sure that not all town vanillas are humans instead of only doubting it.
The use of the word doubt can only mean that he either a Mafia or has a power role.
Again... what's not to understand ??
I'm not rolefishing, I'm stating the obvious.
Infact if you read the OP's initial message, there are NO Human townie vanillas. Not a doubt Jmich... it's a FACT.
If you were a townie, you'd know :) (Phoenix right moment !)
"You found highly disfigured remnants of Kang, one of you and one of the most familiar with this town. It is apparent it was one of you, being not born on Earth, and now it is time to find the the truth behind this. "
The OP's message is meant for the good side, so I suppose none of the good guys are humans.
Sorry if I misled you, wanted to see if somebody would contradict me.
We are probably fighting against xenophobic alien hunters....
