Here's the post I came up with earlier:

Yeah don't vote No-Lynch. The most compelling reason not to is that it make the game boring.
Also people stop soft-claiming! At some point the Mafia is going to have to claim and the more they know about everybody's roles the more convincing a false claim might be.
Finally Pazzer - I'm expecting him to say "I wanted to see what people's reactions were - but still, voting NoLynch? Explain yourself!
---

I wasn't able to send it but how I wish I had - Flubbucket! SirPrimalform! For shame!! Too much softclaiming!!

Someone asked about Pina - I see nothing particularly suspect. Seems an eager player, and of course there is very good reason for being. No the suspect things I see so far are:
- Pazzer's NoLynch vote.
- Flubbucket's softclaim
- just about everybody else softclaiming all over the place.

Regarding Flu. How ballsy would a mafiamember have to be to put in such a claim?
In the last game I think Flu said that he hated claiming. Am I right? And then he claimed on the first day out of boredom? (Or maybe the second day? Have I got that completely mixed up Bucket?)
The introduction makes it pretty clear that the mafia are aliens... unless it's a trick of figurative language. Which Flu is relying on...

Hm...

(Wow! We've thrown ourselves into this haven't we?)

JoeSapphire: Here's the post I came up with earlier:
Blablablabla Yatayatayata
Well, happy you finally got out of your lair. Welcome to the game.

N0x0ss: Well, happy you finally got out of your lair. Welcome to the game.
Thanks! I notice you haven't had a time to take your coat off yet. Do you want some help with it?
You are correct. I don't like the role claim.

However, I felt compelled to at least try and flush out some details. Specifically whether there were Cowboys and Aliens or just aliens. I wanted to stimulate the discussion as much as possible.

Also gurlz FYI, my original post #12 states..."So if I'm an extraterrestrial on Earth..."

You see that "if" in there now doncha. I am pleased with the responses and am able to start culling out the town from the scum.

JoeSapphire: Flubbucket! SirPrimalform! For shame!! Too much softclaiming!!
I haven't softclaimed anything.

SirPrimalform: In British English this image is so much than you realise.

SirPrimalform: Argh, *so much worse.
You're welcome.

British humor over American recycled dreck any day. Thanks mom...
JMich gets a cookie for wanting rvs over with asap.

Cookie for Lifthrasil as weekend so don't think odd Joe hadn't posted yet. Plus not everyone else had checked in yet.

JoeSapphire: Finally Pazzer - I'm expecting him to say "I wanted to see what people's reactions were - but still, voting NoLynch? Explain yourself!
No :P

@Joe Do you think town are humans?

Find the avatar creepy so unvote, vote flubbucket

SirPrimalform: . In the light of that it certainly looks like we're all aliens as well.
I read this as a softclaim. Reading it again I can see how you might be talking purely with regard to the introductory flavour.

Pazzer, I don't think that all townsmembers are Non-Alien. I could believe that there are humen townsmembers and humen mafia members.

Hmm yes, I can see how it could be interpreted that way. I tend to try and talk about these kinds of things as if I don't know my own role, to try and avoid softclaiming (I was questioning Flub in the same manner), but I suppose it can still be read into. Basically, I wiggle my eyebrows at you.

Collaborator scum! If I get my hands on them...

N0x0ss: Do as you feel... But don't be surprised if others get suspicious of you.
Personally, I don't care about winning all that much, it's a game and I just want to have fun. If you guys find my enjoyable time while surrounded by deaths as suspicious... well, I can't really tell anyone off for that, I guess. But I genuinely want to protect the townspeople, honest! Pinky promise!

And I'd say, has nobody thought of looking into other townspeople? Aren't they recognizable as aliens, or are those aliens Ace-ventura level masters of disguise?
Crap! I thought 10 minutes had passed! Sorry!

Role-playing - theres nothing stopping you indeed, but GOG mafia seems to frown upon it. Just be yourself, and hunt scum that way.

I see the 'softclaim dance' has started early this game - someone makes some sort of softclaim, then days are consumed as people are too paralysed with fear to claim anything else, or even speculate on things, for fear of disclosing too much information should they be good guys, or make a telling slip should they be bad guys.

Already we have speculation on the make up of the factions, and questions asked of the MOD even, as people try to clear up things.

Which is why I'm not happy with Flubbucket - yeah i know you said 'if' , but all I can see that you've done is make people more suspicious, and create confusion from a really early stage.

Mind you , looked from another viewpoint, is exactly what we should be doing, stir things up, invite slips.....

Bah! Mafia games - one long river of WIFOM...;)

unvote Flubbucket - I think there's too much softclaiming already, but I can also see why Flub might have done it..
Things are certainly beginning to get interesting.

Lifthrasil:I thought it more likely that TwilightBard was joking, but looked at from your point of view, I can see why you find Twilight suspicious.

P1na:I still don't like that sort of attitude, as I feel that we need to make more informed decisions. Since this is the early game and we don't have much to work with, I think I can forgive this type of attitude for the time being.

Concerning the question that you directed at me: I think you will find that what I said was that it was bad for the group. By this I meant to say that simply killing off someone with scant reason, other than the fact that they voted nolynch, would be bad for us as whole, because it would mean that we would not have had enough discussion about much else. Then again, you're the only one voting for TwisterBE at the moment, so there's no real threat of that happening.

I'd also like to lob two questions your way:

1)What exactly do you mean to suggest by saying,"...the company you keep"?
2)What are your thoughts on whether or not we have an aliens vs. aliens game on our hands?

N0x0ss:You make some interesting points. What is your opinion concerning what type of game we have on our hands? Is it earthlings vs. aliens, or aliens vs. aliens?

flubbucket:I noticed that 'if', but you still look pretty suspect. You're being quite confusing with your claims, but it's too early for me to decide whether or that this is you being intentionally misleading(as I first suspected), or whether your simply trying to generate discussion(as you claim; it's worked quite well, I think).

To TwilightBard, TwisterBE, Pazzer and JMich:I know you all are most probably just being quiet because it's the weekend, but I would like to hear some of your opinions on matters the rest of the group has been discussing. In particular, I would like to hear from TwilightBard and TwisterBe, as they have had the least to say thus far.

JoeSapphire: Pazzer, I don't think that all townsmembers are Non-Alien. I could believe that there are human townsmembers and human mafia members.
That would at least make for the most interesting gameplay and therefore is an option we should consider. I mean, if it is't just 'evil aliens' vs. 'good humans' but rather 'evil aliens and evil humans' vs. 'good aliens and good humans' it all gets much more confusing. And I have the feeling that this might be exactly the situation we are in.

The game would be made much more interesting if this were the case, but I'm still unconvinced. The information we have been given is intentionally vague about what factions we are dealing with, but I still don't understand where this non-alien idea came from. There's nothing in the flavour text to suggest it, and we only have flubbucket's claim(which is contradicted by his first claim)to suggest that one of us may be human. There may, of course, be other information pertaining to this discussion that we could get from our role PMs, but I don't think anyone will be sharing that sort of thing any time soon(or ever, really; we're virtually prohibited from doing that sort of thing).

I'm pretty sure Vanilla towns are humans.
All mafias are probably aliens, and I think that power roles (Cop/Sherif or whatever, there's probably at least 1 power role in the game ) are good aliens.
