I also do not see how you came to the conclusion that human=male. The flavour text for N0x0ss's lynching, and the original flavour post about Kang, refer to N0x0ss using the word 'he'. So by your reasoning, they should both be human. Kang is said to be, at least by my reading of the Vitek's flavour text, an alien, so I don't really see how you came to the conclusion that you have, flub.

TwilightBard-During day 1, you were reluctant to make a list of your top for scummiest, on the grounds that it was merely conjecture and you felt it would not be useful( I cannot remember your exact words, but I feel that that is a fair approximation of them). Do you still feel this way, or would you be willing to make a list now that we have a bit more information?

Blast it. I still haven't come up with a list of 4 "most likely to be Scum" that I find satisfactory. I'll have to see if I can come up with something by the end of the evening. Alas, I've had a few thoughts which have rather drastically changed at least one of my opinions, which I do not feel at the moment it would help to share with all and sundry...

Flubb's looking-for-who-might-pina-have-been-grasping-at-gendered-pronoun makes me think more town detectiving than mafia ploy. I hope the mafia have no idea who p1na was either - but I think they wouldn't be so bothered that they would find the use of the word "he" exciting.

Which makes me think that maybe past Joe did know what he was on about and that maybe I should start trusting the Bucket a little more.

Am disappointed that I asked and wrote a whole bunch of questions, and the people I commented to never responded, despite having been on and posted. So it doesn't leave me in a good position there in regards to trying to figure that out. It again seems that I'm going to have to reply the hell out of posts (and even with BE, I'm loathed to do that again, it's not fun to set up).

More detailed reply later, but honestly, short answer is...I don't have A single 'Might be town' read out of anyone. It's starting to bother me a bit.

Good to have a deadline again, and it seems that the stars on the players list are the prods. Currently trying to do a re-read, but I still doubt if anything will pop out.

Ok, reread cancelled. I'm frustrated as it is, and part of it comes from how cautious things are.

My most scummiest reads are Twister and Joe.

Twister for reasons I've pointed out to him. His voting with a lack of reason, and then his reasoning...there's nothing there. He's playing his cards way too close to the chest. I shouldn't have to do a reread to look for posts when you are giving a case.

Joe...for the same reason actually. He votes for Quad saying that Flubb provided the reason for it, then says that he didn't necessarily agree, but note that he never really gave an actual case. I'm left to believe here that he voted due to Pazzer's play and then basically went 'Meh, kill him anyway' when a switch was given.

I'm still watchful of CSPVG and Lift, CSPVG for his comment from Day 1 about focusing on the 2 with the most votes, and he's been quiet for a bit (He also got those two with the most votes wrong with...twice I think? I could be wrong there).

Lift has been a bit defensive when he feels like he was under fire with Twister, and his hammer post on Noxoss made me tilt my head. I understand wanting to have a lynch...but if you don't think that someone if mafia, then why hammer them?

Quad...I'm getting the feeling that he's hiding stuff too. He seems to just not be actually saying much.

SPF...I've poked at my feeling there in post 508, so I'm not going to repeat myself.

Robb and Flubb are the closest I have to town reads. They've given they're reasoning, been pretty good about explaining themselves, and have been open with their thoughts.

So this brings up to a point. Guys, give your reasoning for votes, make your cases with information and post numbers (Do NOT make us do a reread just to understand your argument, please.), and don't keep your cards so close to your chest that we're all wondering what you're doing. It makes it hard to get a grip on what's going on.

There have been several thoughts attempting to coalesce in my head. This is bad because I'm sure it will lead to a stroke at my age.

One thought sort of crystallised with Lifthrasil's comment regarding "the old ones." It has to do with P1na's murder and why he was chosen.

His comment referenced the veteran and newcomer elements of this game. Without question Vitek would have chosen the factions (town & mafia) via some random method. But this veteran group is a sentimental lot no doubt and I'm wondering if the choice of a night one kill wouldn't have been made from the pool of "the old ones" before killing one of the new comers.

My point being...the mafia faction could possibly be more newbies than oldies due to the choice of NK. No suspects specifically just a hunch.

The other thing rolling around in my humongous head was TwilightBard's comment regarding cautious play.

well it's possible to play BOTH with-bold-audacity AND without-acting-like-batman-suffering-paranoid-delusions.

Twiglet - it's my own fault but when I say "I've been wanting to do this and flub's reason is good enough for me," I mean that I've been trying to find an excuse to pick up my vote back on quad and flubbucket's argument and voting of quad was enough for me to vote. It didn't really matter what they actually WERE, and I'm not sure I even really knew when I posted. It was a sort of joke but I forget that people don't know what I'm thinking when I say or write things and it's my own fault really.

So my reason for voting quad? Well it's the same as I have already explained. Pazzer's going back on his own self to try and justify voting nolynch and get day one out of the way. QuadrAlien's 'misty' quality. I thought Quad had been getting more involved recently but looking over these last 35 posts it's not so good.

Hm. Maybe. Though I rather think that a newbie dominated mafia would be more afraid of experienced townies than of other newbies. At least I would have gone for one of the experienced players first. You could even turn the argument around and assume that an oldie-dominated mafia would eliminate new wild-cards first. Having played several games together they might be better able to assess experienced townies they know and therefore decided to get rid of one on the new ones with whom they had no experience of playing. But all this is just speculation and unfortunately doesn't lead me to a specific suspect. So my list of suspects remains unchanged for now.

Yeah, but I'm looking for more specifically stuff that Quad has done. I'm also looking for your thoughts with it. You seemed to avoid giving anything more then 'I wanted to lynch Pazzer, then Quad replaced him, and now Flubb gave me an excuse to vote for him even though I don't agree completely with the reasons (but not explaining why)'. It looks scummy. It's that cautious play that makes me groan.

My big thing, is that the cautious play I mean is, everyone holding their cards tightly to their chest. To use an in game example, Joe and SPF have used your reasons to vote for Quad, without adding to it on their own. While SPF said he's going to take responcibility for his vote, he's still managed to not give his own thoughts in the matter.

Twister has pretty much managed to avoid giving any idea of who is suspicious to him except for Lift, even when I asked him he just gave a generic 'Everybody'.

This to me is cautious play. The idea that if you give out as little info as possible then your cases can't get broken down so easily. Or you aren't giving the Mafia any extra information except for what you absolutely have to. But at the same time, you also end up denying Town information to actually form cases and informed opinions of what's going on.0
