Current thoughts...

Flub - Quad argument - not a deal of substance in it from either of you to be honest. I'm more inclined to give credence to Quads defence than Flubbuckets theories, which are a little weak for me. Voting for each other as well - all good fun. It almost comes across like two Mafia having an argument made up out of next to nowt for distancing purposes furher down the line.

Lifthrasil made a goodish point about Mafia going after inexperienced rather than experienced players - it would definitely make more sense on the face of it - but it is really a load of 'Wine In Front Of Me' (for those that don't know, that phrase means as good a reason for one thing happening as the opposite happening). Doesnt mean the thought is necessarily wrong from Lifthrasil, it just means theres many other reasons someone else might be picked.

TwisterBE - thin reason for voting Lifthrasil for me - and you jumped on the P1na bandwagon with a very thin reason as well.

I'm going to repeat my 'scum' action of the first day by slinging a vote on someone immediately after someone else has here aren't I?...;)

Oh well - I think its deserved and my reasons for are clear enough

Not exactly there sir. Check voting again. I voted pazzer Day One and kept my vote on QuadrAlien through the end of the day.

I started Day Two by voting for QuadrAlien and listed my reasons based solely on his posts not pazzer's. Granted my "third vote" statement is a stretch but not outside the norm. His vote is clearly an OMGUS.

Voting for each other....NO

Looking back you are indeed correct - point taken.
Okay then, let's get this over with before my flu medication starts talking* :

QuadrAlien-Thank you for explaining that, your 'what if' scenario makes more sense now.

Moving on from that, and speaking in more general terms, I'd like to ask everyone to post their top four suspects. Yes, I know we all did this yesterday, but my has change quite a bit, mainly because two of my top suspects are now dead. I'll post mine later, once I've had a bit of a think.

In hindsight, hounding N0x0ss the way I did wasn't very helpful. I should have expanded my purview and looked at other players, instead of focusing on N0x0ss's blatant tactics.

*If you were wondering how flu medication changes my normal mode of rambling, it's that I become much more of an Old Testament prophet. Seriously, just listen," And lo, the Gogfather did look upon JoeSapphire and say,' Get you from this land, before I stretch your future games unto fifteen thousand posts! This I say, this condemnation I give, for your participation in a most unholy game of strip Mafia!' And JoeSapphire obeyed, leaving His fair land for a country to the north. There he met a beautiful maiden, whose eyes he did deem both large and shiny, and he began a courtship in that land, with the fair Flubbucket. To his dying day he their remained, begetting many children that would flood the internet mafia playing community with aphorisms, rules, and laws. For this the Gogfather did not punish him, but said,' He is of my people, and so we must tolerate him as you would a cantankerous uncle!'"

(Apologies to all parties involved in the above post.)

TwisterBE: It's the way you are talking about the experienced players. They seem to be your new target. And you keep switching those for no reason.

That's just how I experience it.
avatar
Lifthrasil: So again, like in the last cases, you target me because I switch targets whenever new pieces of data appear? That's a very thin reason. Adapting your suspicion according to the behaviour of all the others is part of the game. You however seem to be intent on sticking to your once formulated opinion, no matter what happens. That is definitely not town-play. Because as a townie you would be lacking the information to justify a fixed target. And on day one even a cop would have no information but still you were quite fixed on me (and P1na). Much like SPF was fixed on N0x0ss. Yes, this makes SPF look suspicious too, but N0x0ss actually took quite some effort to make himself suspicious. While you only find it suspicious that I switch targets (and that I target experienced players, as if they couldn't be mafia!)
This fixation only makes sense if you have for some reason the feeling that you can't be wrong. Which is either self-overestimation or you are scum and know who your targets are.

So, I know it is considered bad style to vote for someone voting for you (for whatever reason), but to me you come over very strongly as mafia trying to eliminate townies one by one.

vote TwisterBE
I don't think new pieces of data appear. I think you make them appear and throw them in the group, hoping someone else is picking up on it.

I'm not fixated on you, but right now I have no reason to vote on someone else.

Let this war end in either total victory or our extinction. No further compromise shall we allow.

Your bright face obscures your darker mask.
Buildin up a mexican standoff.

I like Twister's posts. I read them and I think "yes" and then just now Lifthrasil-or-maybe-Rob I could go and check but I won't said 'you sound very confident like you know what's going on' and I thought
"OH maybe that's true"
So perhaps what I like about Twister's posts is that they seem like someone knows what they're talking about WHICH in mafia is usually a bad thing I guess.

So - scumminess is bad, multiplied tenfold for making Joe feel betrayed.

('Yes' isn't like YES in agreement - there's usually not much to agree on. It's just a sort of feelig of "yes")

But it's time to vote and I've been wanting to do this - flubbucket's reasoning is good enough for me. We should have lynched pazzer.
Vote QuadrAlien

I don't have much time now but I'll remember to do top four scums when I get back.
17 hours silence? Where have you all disappeared to?
I think Joe went to the Mexican restaurant.
I'm still trying to see if any of my reads ping as scum instead of "Have to keep an eye on". And I hate the fact that we didn't get a cardflip from P1na, because we are more or less back in Day 1, with 2 people down.

Will try to post a bit more later today.

Lifthrasil: 17 hours silence? Where have you all disappeared to?
My silence is due to the fact that I'm not feeling very well. I am going to be doing a thread re-read today or tomorrow, and then I'll post my list of four most scummy.
(sigh)

Let me try and explain my thoughts as clearly as possible.

Flubbucket - you have joined wagons as the third person in day one (notably mine, but also TwisterBE's). You are going for the person who has gathered the second most votes in day 1, which could so easily be taken as going for the "low-hanging fruit", as you put it.

Neither of these are my arguments against you. It's more being slightly berserk about the quote mine, along with the admittedly possibly not entirely thought through section where the 3rd place on the N0x0ss wagon (the one that we know was a mislynch) was CSPVG.

In any case! If I am wrong, and you turn out Town, however, if I am killed they may very well be used as the basis of an argument used against you tomorrow. (If I'm right and I'm lynched... Well, I'd say I can live with that, but I wouldn't.) Tomorrow, there'll be a high chance that it's Lynch or Lose. Might not be - can't say for certain. However, you're going to have a very difficult defense.

So, there are two possibilities I must consider here. Either you are Mafia going for what you see as the easy target. Or you have foolishly gone into this without thinking your statements through.

I do not believe you are a fool.

...

...Of course, this really isn't much of a defense for me, given that it hinges on me being dead and known as Town. Not an ideal state of affairs, especially as nightkills aren't giving any more information than "is dead". That said, that might not always be an issue - I've been looking through the Mafiascum wiki, and there's a role for that...
Ok, my current thoughts on things.

Twister: I gotta say, not liking the vote without a reason, and that it had to be prodded out of you. It has bitten the town in the ass before to lynch someone who kept harping on a lynch with no reasoning even when asked. Note votes, note swings, note something when you vote. Evidence appears as votes are placed, wagons are formed, and night actions happen, there are a few things that happen at random though.

Lifthrasil: Honestly, 457 plus your choice of targets and reasoning, has me confused. You saying it was worded wrong...strikes me as really hard to read now. Not really sure I'm a fan of that.

Joe...come on, you know better then to vote with a 'I agree with...' reason

Twister, is there anyone else that you're keeping an eye on besides Lifthrasil?
I'm keeping my eye on everyone of course :')
I made the mistake of not posting on thursday night and just going to bed and then spending all of friday doing things in meatspace but I see I haven't missed much. >.>

I'm a bit stuck at the moment. I was far more suspicious of N0x0ss than anyone else yesterday and he had the audacity to actually be town, so I'm not really sure about anything at the moment.
