If you are going to be going with hidden deadlines, how will the lynch be affected? Are we expected to reach a majority consensus before you spring the deadline upon us, or will you simply lynch the person with the most votes to his/her name?

Usual mafia practice is that if no majority vote has been reached until deadline, nolynch is the default outcome. See my previous posts why nolynch is a bad option in the first few days of the game.

Good question, but that rule appears to have vanished now so it probably doesn't matter.

This, looks oddly suspicious. Not paying attention, hoping it was going to be a quick day...it looks like a Mafia who is trying to coast through day 1 if you ask me.

And the cartoon question...honestly, it's kind of a dangerous question. I could see it being used to turn town against town.

I can't believe that that's the second joke I haven't picked up on. I'm starting to realise that I don't have to be as serious as I thought I would have to be around you lot. In light of which, I would like to post a recipe for crustless Amarula milktart, but that would be derailing the thread.

Two things:

1. Vitek, I think a strict deadline would be a good idea.
2. Would anyone else care to share their list of suspects with us?

Ack! I apologise for being so rude. I didn't notice I had done this, but I can believe that I have. I will often overlook details when I am writing off the top of my head.

I was actually going to do just that! But then I thought "why should I bother defending him when for all I know I could be wrong?" and deleted the few words that I had written. But I was going to write something like:
and N0x-0ss is enacting schemes which, though entertaining, are possibly harmful to town. This isn't unusual for him though - I've seen him play as goodguy in two other games. And I get the feeling like his energy comes from a desire to discover who the badguys are. To solve the case. That's the impression that I get. I'ld like to have seen him in a game where he turned up mafia - but that's not how it works. He seems genuine.

and in the interests of teaching (and risking coming across as a bit of an arse) I'll explain why Pazzer's question was harmful to town:
Imagine if it came to a point in time where we could force a claim out of a mafia member and they DIDN'T KNOW that the aliens come from cartoons because NOBODY HAD MENTIONED IT. Then they would say something like "I am groblfyyk the alien" and they would get caught out in a lie!
(And then we'ld 'say AHA! YOU LIED' and they would say 'no I am a townsmember and I was just lying to protect town' and we would all look at our shoes and think "dang! if only we had worked out some system whereby we agree that townspeople should never lie)
BUT let us learn by mistaking together. Perhaps I'm trying to be too cautious and that is spoiling the entertainment to be had.

I just went and found it - imagine if I had gone with my assumption and said "Lifthrasil asked" - fortunately I am savvy enough to consume myself with doubt
