Lifthrasil: What does RVS mean? (Sorry, being one of the noobs I don't know all of the game terms yet)
RVS is Random vote stage. It's usually marked by really stupid reasons for voting, but it's mainly an attempt to get reactions from people to try to get us some information to work with. There's nothing at the beginning of the game to work with, so it's impossible to start a serious discussion and actually scumhunt without a few voting reactions.

OK, I'll believe you for now that you were just randomly shooting in the dark and

unvote TwilightBard.

But I'll keep watching you (and everyone else).
Head hurts... too much thinking on this game.

I'm glad to read from JMich that my gut feeling of "nolynch is bad" was justified. So I'm not going to change my vote for the people who wanted a nolynch right out of the bat, it's just not a justified move.

I'm a newbie on this game, and I'm seeing there's way more reasoning involved on this than I originally expected. Which is fine, don't get me wrong, but I probably should lurk around a bit more before I act too stupidly and get my team in trouble. My team as in the town, of course. What else could I possibly mean here.

So I will keep my voting stance and watch the developments for a little while. That sounds like a plan.

Honestly, I tend to argue that the best way to learn is to jump in the deep end. We tend to be fairly tolerant of newbie mistakes. And, win or lose, the game is really about having fun.

Oh, I don't disagree. But I jumped right in already, have I not? I tested the water, now I'll check the ripples for a bit before starting round 2. Besides, I'm not in the mood to think about stuff like this today. Do call me if it's time for lynching though, I'm bloodthirsty and all that.

And do not misunderstand me: No matter what I do or say, if I wasn't having fun, I wouldn't be here.

N0x0ss: "I do though doubt that all town vanilla are humans."

Meaning :- I'm not an ALIEN town vanilla, otherwise I'd be sure that not all town vanillas are humans instead of only doubting it.

The use of the word doubt can only mean that he either a Mafia or has a power role.

Again... what's not to understand ??
I'm not rolefishing, I'm stating the obvious.

...............<Snip>.....................
He could also be allowing for the possibility.

It's possible that all town vanilla are humans. Just like it's possible Good aliens and Bad aliens along with Good humans and Bad humans are the make-up for this game.

His use of the word doubt can mean these things as well.

TwilightBard: ................<Snip>....................

Flubb's avatar is enough to give me nightmares...

................<More Snip>........................
Now how could you be afraid of an innocent child with such big beautiful eyes???

Take if from me...the nightmare starts when she turns into a teenager!!!
Looks like it's not going to be a quick day so will have to start paying proper attention and look for clues. Would make a change to lynch mafia day 1.

May have already been asked if so ignore but who is and isn't from same cartoon as Kang?

P1na: <snip>Do call me if it's time for lynching though, I'm bloodthirsty and all that.<snip>
You see, he admits it! :P

You did explain yourself yesterday, and I should have done this then, so Unvote: P1na.

You lied to me, flubb. My nightmares started last night.
So sorry.

However, all teenage girls are still a nightmare!

pazzer: May have already been asked if so ignore but who is and isn't from same cartoon as Kang?
ARGH why ask that now??? PLEASE don't anybody answer that question!

Pazzer are you really serious about wanting day one to end quickly and without a lynch? Why?

Twister - It's how the game's played I'm afraid. Don't be scared to lynch because it's vital to the game's progression. It seems harsh, but the quicker we throw ourselves into it the quicker those we lose along the way can start the next game.
Also you really can't deliberately lurk. The more you get involved the more can be discerned from your playstyle - do you make any affiliations, do you want to lynch particular people etc. Lurking is the mafiosos' game because they don't want to be discovered.

Ah yeah I just remembered someone asked - I do change my avatar to suit the current mafia game.

And why not - my top mafias at the moment are:

FluBBucket - hates claiming yet unprovoked 'human' claim. Audacious enough for this kind of stunt? I'ld like to think so.
RobBeasy - not giving anything away about himself (which is a good). Didn't take a stance on softclaiming. A bit of facesitting. (FENCE) ALSO voted Flubbucket and then unvoted him for no particular reason so the idea that these guys are on a mafia team together pleases me.
Lifthrasil - an early process of elimination - there's got to be a new player on the team (especially considering about half of the group are) Of the new players seems the most cautious and aggressive. Cautgressive. I'm not particularly convinced but I'm feeling it more than
Pazzer - my "by rights should be mafia but probably isn't"

SO there you have it. What can I do now but vote Flubbucket

N0xx0ss - if the a majority voted to include the rule Lynch All Liars would you refuse to comply?
OK - things seemed to have moved out of RVS in record time - I likes it..!

Noxoss - I can see why he has done what he has done, it IS only by provoking people that we can gauge any reactions and look for slips, but as others have said contradicting yourself is never really a good move.

LAL I agree with to a point - the ONLY time it should be employed by Town is to protect a massive power role, as Gamerager tried to do last game....and he got some serious heat once it came out he had lied. In fact if you look at that game he was very nearly lynched after being caught out in the lie, which highlights really the inherent dangers of lying if you are Town.

Aliens / humans - the trouble with any speculation / talk about this topic is automatically giving out information, as any thoughts on it are influenced by your own PM - as soon as someone writes about it, you can take an educated guess as to whether they are alien or human. So I would discourage any more talk about it for that reason, as it gives the Mafia free information. Don't forget - usually the extra info Mafia gets is only the other members of their team, nothing else, no naming info, or owt like that. I say usually because of course Vitek might have thrown in any number of little tweaks to liven it up.

And after all that blather about cutting out speculation as its pointless, I'm going to go directly against it and point out something Vitek put in Opening post - 'you win when all threats to this peaceful city are removed'

More than one Mafia gang?
Serial Killer?

I guess we'll find out soon enough when the bodies start piling up....

JoeSapphire: N0xx0ss - if the a majority voted to include the rule Lynch All Liars would you refuse to comply?
It's N0x0ss, and if the majority (7) vote for the LAL, I'll be forced to comply. (I don't want t be lynched on day 1)

But you did behave quite suspiciously. Sure, it might be true that you just acted like you did to judge reactions. But that, as someone else has pointed out, is an excuse that any mafia might use as well for just about any behaviour. So how are we to know that we can trust you now?

I'm still not a fan of the LAL rule either though, since I still think that there might be legitimate reasons for the good power-roles to lie on occasion. And it would be very bad for the town to lynch a good power-role and therefore I would prefer not to risk that.

pazzer: May have already been asked if so ignore but who is and isn't from same cartoon as Kang?
avatar
JoeSapphire: ARGH why ask that now??? PLEASE don't anybody answer that question!
Why not? I think it's a legit question, albeit kinda incredible in today's world. So Pazzer, let me answer it for you: Kodos is Kang's partner.

But hey, I met a guy yesterday that actually asked me "what does 'simpsons' mean when asked about the show, so I'll believe anything at this point.
I agree with Joe that it's not really a helpful question. Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of popular culture could answer it, claim that they were also from the same television show, and make a claim based on 'being part of the same cartoon'.

P1na: I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to suggest. Are you saying you are Kodos, or simply that you know about the Simpsons?

I think at this point it would be far more helpful to list our top suspects, and get discussion going from there.

My top suspects at the moment are(these are listed in no particular order):

1.N0x0ss-He's been acting strange of late. He's recently contradicted himself, and claimed this was only because he wanted to, "gauge player reactions," to his statement; apart from that he's made accusations about rolefishing, and backed these up with little more than, "I'm usually right about my suspicions".

2. flubbucket-Our initial discussion about roles, and his contradicting himself, have made me suspicious of him.

3. P1na-While TwilightBards initial RVS vote felt jokey, I still don't like P1na's initial vote. Saying that he'd rather prefer to see a dead townie, than a townie unwilling to vote at that time, is suspicious to me.

4. JoeSapphire- Referred to me as 'someone' in several posts; buried his priddy hat with his last avatar so that I couldn't get to it.
