IIRC There have been a few companies recently that got caught out using screenshots of the 'better' version to advertise the game on a platform where the native graphics are far worse.
If you are going by box/print advertisements, you can no longer really take it as it is.

Fair enough, even though I don't know how they would be fun, the ones I've seen I think are more about managing the team etc..., I think. I may have one laying around from a magazine, if I can find it I will send it to you, but don't get your hopes up, I don't know when I will be going back to my parent's house.

I'm sorry you won't be able to enjoy the game like you wanted. At least, judging from your words, you can trade it in for another game or get your money back. I would not be able to do that here in most stores, so i would probably be stuck with the game.

Well, that's what I mean. This borders on fraud, since the product being advertised for is not the product actually being sold. In fact, in Norway we have laws against this sort of thing, and any product found to be in violation of those laws cannot be sold.
At least I get my money back. I guess I'll just get 5 GoG games for the money instead.

Yeah, I remember playing the NBA Live series of games for a few years (95-97?) and they were brilliant on the PC. Thanks for the heads-up, Stonebro.
I can't say I'm too surprised though - the Need for Speed games have felt to me like carbon (no pun intended) copies of each other since they went underground. I don't want to keep it real, on the streets, yo. I just want to drive nice cars. Fast.

Heh, I remember companies doing that back in the 1980s, putting Amiga screenshots on Commodore games, etc. They fixed it before and I hope they do so again. Getting ripped off sucks.

The disc version of The Sims 3 has no fancy DRM (only basic offline CD key verification), but the catch is that to get any patches or other updates you must install the EA Download Manager. Signing up for the EA DM turns the product into a service, and just like with SecuROM-based titles your access is entirely dependent on EA. At any point they could decide to change the DRM used or decide you are a filthy, greedy pirate and ban you from accessing the game (except in its original, unpatched form).

Well, it makes cracks easier to use anyway if you're not using SecuROM.

That's BMX, it's basically like a skater game only on bikes.

I'll be over here enjoying flawed greats such as Dead Space, Bad Company (/snigger) and Mirror's Edge.
