Just recently went back to the very first Zelda game... quite hard, but totally worth it. It is fun to see characters that show up many years later in other Zelda games. I love Sonic too. The newest Sonic had great running levels, but they were juxtapose to these really terrible slow, lumbering sonic levels that didn't fit. Good thing the old games will always be there!
