Amen.
What if Lucasarts licensed GOG to sell them for a percentage of the profits? They aren't making any money off of the old games anyways, are they?

as stated in one of my previusly posts i found a so called entertainment pack containing the old adventure games. this was ofcourse some years ago (5 or 6) so if can still be found? i dont know
:-D Yes please - All of the above
But I fear Mothra is right... I bet they will put up a stink about licensing out their classic catalog.
I have all these games, and ScummVM is awesome... but for some reason, I wouldn't mind paying for any of them again. These are the best of the best... how do you put a price on that?

Mothra: Everyone is fearing it....
Lucasarts will never let go of its property.

If we learned anything from Sam & Max, it is that we should be happy if someone doesn't give us what we want, because then we can take it from them in gruesome and horribly violent ways. ;)
I'm not thinking it.
That said, if I would take a chance at such games, which ones should I start first?

You really can't go wrong with most of them... but here's my recommendation:
If you're new to point-and-click adventures, Full Throttle is a good start - it's not incredibly challenging, and it's one of the shorter games. There are a couple of annoying bits, but overall it's a real fun game, with a rockin soundtrack by The Gone Jackals (I miss them).
For an epicly awesome, more challenging game, I'd go with Monkey Island 2, Day of the Tentacle or Grim Fandango.
I think Full Throttle and Grim Fandango have the most style out of any of them, mostly due to Tim Schafer. The Monkey Island series always impressed me with having some of the best puzzles of any adventure games I've played - always challenging, but not cryptic - when you figure something out, it makes sense... rarely do you do something and not understand why it worked. Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle are both excellent as well - probably on the higher end of the comedy scale (not to say the others aren't funny as well). The Indy adventure games are fun, but I don't think they hold up as well. Aside from the adventures, X-Wing and Tie Fighter are some of the absolute best space flight sims I've ever seen, even to this day. And Dark Forces was an excellent first person shooter...
Sorry, I guess that wasn't as concise as you might have liked.
To be honest i never thought about it, i never liked any of those games except Monkey island 1 & 2. I Found the other ones to be pretty dull in comparison.
I just bought Full Throttle off of ebay for $12, it's not that expensive or hard to find. Plus, SCUMMVM makes all compatibilty problems go away.
My personal favorite is DOTT, though. One of the only adventure games I played through multiple times.
DOTT definitely is in it's own category... I don't think I've ever played another adventure game where you play multiple characters that are intertwined like in DOTT.
Vargavinter, I can see that - the Monkey Island series is pretty easy to pick up. I was unsure of pretty much all of the games (save Sam and Max) until I played them. I really enjoyed them though. Some of the other stuff around Monkey Island 1's time I didn't really care for though... I played through Loom, but I never really cared for it. The other LucasArts game that I didn't like was The Dig... people seem to be divided on that one. Oh, and then there was Afterlife, which was just an impossibly hard sim game.
damn! i would even pay more if that is the case :/ curse of monkey island is probably my favourite from lucas arts :>
somehow i doubt lucas arts is watching the beta forums here at GoG.com. I'm going to register at their forums and do some requesting, politely.
EDIT:
I've posted, here's the thread

Somehow I doubt they're going to pay any attention to that, either, but I guess cant hurt.
please contribute to that thread.
I would probably give serious consideration to some sort of soul bargaining process of souls in order to get my hands on some of the Lucasarts games again lol. DOTT rocked my socks off.
