Does anyone here play? I've just started checking it out the past couple of days, because I can't find a standalone space sim that speaks to me. So, I gave EVE a shot with the trial. While I am really impressed... I'm lost. LOL Reading through the getting started guide atm. If there's anyone here who plays; I'd be thankful for some help.

I do >.>

Send me a PM with your ingame name and Ill do my best to help you out.
ignore most guides they don't work anymore

If you wan't to carebear it mission up and train into a cruiser asap you'll get good money and can train up to a BS if you took Caldari get into a drake and fully train for it you'll be rolling in the cash aslong as your careful (Mining is also a good way to make money but also enough to make you fall asleep)
PVP get into a cruiser and join eveU they'll help you.
Forums acting funny today. I just now saw these replies.

Uh, yeah. I'm still in training. It's really not clear or it could be the meds I'm on atm. So, can I just join a Corp. right off? Even though I'm still in training.

Let me give you an example of what I've gone through (and bear in mind I am really trying to like this game):

So, Aura tells me I've got to go from Kisogo VII to Uitra VI with clearance papers. So, I think I have these papers on me yeah? Well, I arrive after sometime at the War Academy. I try to find my papers. I can't. I have Clearance "document", but not the Clearance "Paper". It takes me some time to realize wtf is going on. So, I have to turn around and fly all the way back to the academy at Kisogo VII. I find the papers at the station in my assets. After much trial and error finally get the papers into the cargo hold and fly back again to Uitra VI. Yes, pain in my ass. Then I try to move the papers from the cargo hold to the station. Nothing. So, I get Aura back online who tells me well done. Then she dumps into some other mission and that's where I'm at. No idea wtf is going on. LOL Thinking about starting over from the beginning.

Alright, I will as soon as I figure out how. Thanks.
If you're care bearing it up EUNI is a good way to go.

If youre more combat focused try OUCH.

If you want a more personal way of learning join a smaller corp that can work with you more directly. but be aware of time zones and the fact corps may be near dead and trying to rejuvenate them and you may be the only one online most of the time
I played it on and off over the last 12months.Only stopped cause of lack of $$ lol.
Its actually quite decent if your prepared to put time and effort into it. IMHO the stickied threads and many of the information threads are still relevant especially those created by long time users.Sure some info will change cause of new expansions and regular patching, but the bulk of the info is still applicable to the game. Last time i logged in i was playing as a miner/salvager :). NB the last update did spruce up the graphics a bit.
I just looked up the term "carebearing" LOL

Yes, I like it so far. Despite the learning curve. It is pretty cool. Will have to see if I have the patience to stay with it.

I want to know what anime character your avatar is! (it is an anime right?)

On topic, EVE Keeps me addicted. When i have money for it. Awesome game, heaps to do... Too much, a little overwhelming at times but thats what makes it so great.
Look up EVE Online review from Ben Yahtzee Chroshaw. It'll give you a decent idea. One goofy thing too is that there are in game credits that can be purchased to lengthen your subscription time, but they can be stolen and destroyed at the same time. I came across an article where about $1200 (In real USD) was destroyed in game, but it doesn't matter to the developers as they already have that money.

By the way, am I the only one who after they posts, doesn't see the thread update bounce it up to the top of the first page, or increase the thread's post number?

To be fair, that idiot shouldn't have put all their eggs in one basket, and should've had an escort.
